Right, I'm playing a goody two-shoes for the first time in about 500 years.
Just about to finish the Nashkel mines, my aim is to take people I've never taken along before
(My last play through I took Skie, Branwen, Faldorn, Eldoth and Edwin = epic team)

I'm a NG Archer with Ajantis, Alora and Quayle
Ajantis is a Cavalier, which I'm finding a bit too overpowered mayhap?
Alora is a Burgalar with 2 stars in daggers (I just noticed how I keep coming along a strange dagger called 'Nome Stikka, smells of SCS?)
And Quayle is just Quayle (although with 19 intelligence, and yet he still failed to scribe 4 out of 5 scroll? 5% my arse!)
About to find Xan, and then i'm going to get Yeslick as soon as possible after that

I'm trying do it as fast as possible which is a bad idea with such a small party with SCS installed, ouch

Now I don't know whether to make Xan a Sorcerer or keep him as an Enchanter?
I'm also thinking of ditching Alora for Safana (who I usually have if I'm not as Thief), of whom I've made a Swashbuckler and have never played her as one before, or should I just man it up and stick with Alora (albeit on mute)?

No one else is really an option, I'm trying to play it so I carry on when people die, so far Xzar, Montaron, Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid and Viconia have died :(

Hey,

Sorcerer/Enchanter might be a question of taste. While a sorcerer is propably more powerful later on, the flexibility of an enchanter is just as useful as the advantage of having more spells per day, I guess. Also, Xan is not an extremely useful character because of his low con. I guess you don't want to take Minsc and Dynaheir along because you took them too often? because they would be a pretty good choice for your setup.

I think Alora is fine. If you make her proficient in shortbows, she can really be effective with her 19 dexterity. I never liked Safana... again, both have advantages and disadvantages, rather a question of taste.

I think you still have a lot of options you didn't mention here. Especially Yeslick, who is one of the most powerful characters in the game, comes to mind. His tanking abilites when he buffs himself up are awesome. I also don't see Coran (who is an amazing Archer), Kivan (don't need to comment on him) and Garrick on either list. Did you forget them, or do you dislike them for some reason? I know, you already play an archer, but in BG1, one can never have enough powerful ranged npc's.

If Yeslick is still aviable yet, I would take him and Kivan along. Best alternative would be Minsc and Dynaheir - if I understand it correctly that you want to add some NPCs. I am not entirely sure what your question really is.

Also - this is the wrong forum for the question :) there is a seperate BG1 forum.

Apparently that's part of the SCS-BGT mod, which is different from the "real" SCS mod (which does work on BGT). And I think the "real" SCS is much more up to date than this SCS-BGT mod.

Whoops, it's these new forums dammit!

I miss the old ones :(

I've had all those NPCs you listed, I'm trying to mix it up with one's I've never had before

Yeah Dynaheir and Xan go hand in hand because of their opposing schools ... maybe in my next run through

I made him a Sorcerer in the end, enjoying him as that, Quayle is my backup mage ...

I'm thinking of heading over for Safana now, Alora is just .... too much for me, worse than Skie maybe

I'm using the real SCS mod, didn't know there was a different version?

Gosh Nimbul was difficult, thank god he kept targeting his Sleep spells on Xan.

Another thing, why is Xan's Moonblade listed as a dagger? It definitely isn't, it's definitely a longsword, something messed up from a mod mayhap?
