Seriously, the biggest myth about computer games is that you need a super computer to run them. I could even run Crysis well on my my old PC. If you don't run everything at the highest setting possible (which, unfortunately, everyone wants to DO), you can play anything.

EDIT: Hell, I'm on MAC. On BOOTCAMP. And I run TF2, Origins, L4D, ME2, HL2, just fine.

Guys, Bioware has long been of the Blizzard type mentality when it comes to making their games... make it accessible to people with lower / medium range systems (this helps sell your game to more people)... this often means not utilizing cutting edge graphics engines, etc.



They've never made games that push or even come close to needing high end computers to run their games... even dating back to Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, those ran damn well on older rigs even back then.



If you could run DA:O decently on your current rig, I'd bet safe money DA2 will run just as well... if not better. (I.e. Mass Effect 2 runs at smooter frame rates on my computer than Mass Effect 1 did.... Bioware is good at learning quickly how to optimize their game engine between sequels).
