Hi.

I don't like any of the male soundsets in BG 2, my BG 1 soundset isn't there. I'd be happy if my character made no sound at all but I like my party members battle cries and all that so I don't want to turn all voices off. So can I fix it so just my character has no sound? I've looked in the sounds folder and thought I'd just delete the appropriate files, but I can't play them for some reason and I don't really want to start deleting stuff without knowing what I'm doing.

Thanks very much.

You can copy the BG1 sound sets to BG2.

It's actually very easy to create a blank voice set. First you need a blank .wav file, then create a folder in the game directory called "Sounds". Copy the blank wave file into that folder, and rename it something like "None01" which will allow you to pick a voice option called "None" (you can call it whatever you want). Your character will still make sounds when he's hit in combat (taken from the Default voice set), but that's not too big of a deal. If they bother you though I believe all you have to do is copy the blank file 12 more times and rename them "None02" to "None13".

That's what I initially intended but I can't play the sounds so I don't know which is which.

Thanks I'll give that a go.

So copy all of them.
