^ yeah, I agree. And it seems Bioware knew that too, seeing as they edited the lines and re-purposed the ones they didn't used as the OP noted.

However, I want to know why they cut those 4 codex entries (the drell one and thermal clip one especially, as the latter explains why armor is resistant to biotics) and those galactic news updates in response to me1 quests.

I can tell you why the Drell one went:  having Kepral's syndrome be a bacterial infection is silly.  Also, that entry says the Drell were rescued 200 years ago.  They changed it to ~100.  Probably did it fairly late, and it just wasn't worth the trouble to re-record the Codex entry, so they dummied it out.

Either Harb is some kid trash talking over Xbox live or he's a sex maniac.

Maybe both.

Just get the embed HTML code from Youtube like normal.  Switch the forum editor to "BBCode" mode, and paste it in.  Then submit it while still in "BBCode" mode.  If you switch back to normal mode, the editor will automatically delete the HTML.  It'll also do that if you edit your post, so you'll have to re-do the procedure in that case.

Hey, OP. Have you found the cut dialog for the Mordin/Grunt confrontation (only dialog from the aftermath is left)? Because I think that would also make a great topic too :)

The only part that I have found (Xbox360) is recruit Grunt FIRST (took Jacob & Zaaed on Sentinel Insanity) then Mordin. Grunt conversations are great, "the plague..", "I don't get sick..." then he meets Mordin, vaccine cures Grunt BUT the subtiltes change before I get to read all of it (sigh...)

Hrm, where have I heard a similar speech?

Sounds Swedish.

To make ME3 more... cinematic, I think there should be an option where you can join the Repears. Anyone remember Fallout 1? If you go to a city called, Necroplis you can speak to the Super Mutants and they take you to their leader. He'll offer you a chance to join and if you do... you get a nasty/bad ass cutscene of your Vault being overrun and your character being dipped into FEV. It would be interesting to see a... change of pace.

The already plausible theory that the Reapers think they're doing everybody a favor is now 100% confirmed.

Too bad I think that's a super-lame motivation.

IMO, they don't think it's a favor, it's their destiny. They think organic species don't have a choice nor the reapers see it as some kind of benefit, but their simple role in the course of existence. Like some simple rule embeded in coding.

I wish they would have kept it, Harbingers little speech at the end always seemed to end a little too soon.

But hearing this basically confirms my suspicions that the reapers have some sort of superiority complex and think that causing genocide to create one of them is something "good" for that species.

Why do you keep finding all these files which weren't in game? What the heck was bioware doing?

Nothing that doesn't happen as a matter of course in pretty much any medium.  Books get revised and edited before going to press, film and television have deleted scenes and script changes/rewrites (often hours before a scene is filmed), etc.  Games are only unusual in that often, the cut material is relatively easy to access because it's easier to just leave it where it is and simply make a few changes to the code.   You can be assured that a whole mess of other material exists which never even made it into any build of the game.  For instance, just think about how much concept art was generated, and then rejected.

Like KOTOR 2 when moders brought back 50% of missing game and didn't need voice actors since they had all the dialogue there also. Also maps and models.

Yeah. That was a big disappointment for me when I first heard it. One of the best things about Sovereign was the menace dripping from that voice. Harby just doesn't instill the same sense of dread.

On that note: BioWare - please bring back the scary voice.

That case actually was a little unusual, because Obsidian really didn't want to release it when they did.  It was Lucasarts that insisted it be out by Christmas of that year.  Obisidian even wanted to do a "content patch" and restore all that themselves, and then some, but from what I gather Lucasarts vetoed the idea.  Similar things have happened to films and novels, but like KOTOR 2, it's not really that common.  Usually material is cut for far less drama-laden reasons.

The more Info i get about cut content and how the ME2 dev team handled the MEverse the more puzzled i am
How they could get away with a sub-Bioware standard game
