I think the real twist would be that it turns out she's NOT a cold, calculating, manipulative, uncaring, callous, selfish and sociopathic person.

And one I would hope for. A soft spot underneath the armor....

This is the key to Dragon Age: Gaider and Laidlaw locked in a Balrog-and-Galdalf-like duel as we plunge through the burning heart of Thedas.

Someone should really get on drawing that, and try to work a chrome griffon playing an electric guitar into the background somewhere.

O.O

You just blew my mind with awesome.

There are little chunks of amazed brain all over the walls... all over the walls.

If I can't kill her (FOR GOOD), then I won't be satisfied :P

The stab and she falls trough the portal is not definite. She could have survived that. NO!

I personally thought Morrigan was a heartless, simple minded, shallow, selfish, harpy who should have gotten along with dog better then she did.... you know. Being a female dog herself and all.

*activates indomitable*
*hides behind shield*
*backs away slowly*

In all seriousness though, I really dont get all the attention she receives.
Its gotta be more then the sexy voice, the sexy bod, and the bad girl attire that is more likely to slip a nipple then a Britney Spears blouse.

..... Actually, thats likely enough.

That's pretty much it. People may say otherwise, but mostly it's because of her skimpy clothing and appearance that people like her. People deny it, but that's the main reason. People want to believe her because she's beautiful. Notice how in the Sacred Ashes trailer (where she wore more covering clothes) people didn't seem to like her as much.

Well that is part of the reason I guess but she is a fascinating character as well. You just have to take the time to get to know and understand her and why she's the way she is, she has layers.

Ah, but you see, that's what all of the Morrigan-sick lovebugs are expecting. You know a man named Joe Abercrombie? Terrific author. Anyways, he has a habit of taking cliches and flipping them on their heads. Morrigan appears to be a cliche here; a cold, mean-spirited woman who acts misunderstood. Why not surprise us all by making the scope of her evil so dark, so deep, that even her horny fanboys will want to drive a metal rod through her skull.

At least someone is willing to admit that that's part of the cause. Every other time I've brought it up, everyone gets defensive. Very good, though, for finally admitting it. I'm not saying that it;s the only reason that people like her, but it's the main one. I know it from experience. Morrigan says so herself. "Men are always willing to believe two things about women; one, that she is weak, and two, that she is attracted to him."

Good thing that Morrigan isn't in DA:2.

I have a hunch that Morrigan has quite a future with the DA story. Somewhere the "Godchild" is going to come into play. Also if Flemeth is ever truly destroyed, someone has to take her place. All in all there is plenty of material for Morrigan to be in the next 2 DA stories at the very least.

Agreed. She was a white version of Viconia (from BG2), complete with all the verbal abuse that entails. Nevertheless, I do hope they finish her story at some point, and I expect they will, because witch hunt definately implied she would play a role in the future. I get the feeling DA3 will have a new protagonist too, so the warden probably won't be returning. It looks like the shippers are SOL.

Ah, but you see, why not do a twist and give us something that we're not expecting? A lot of that happened in the first game. A lot of stuff we wanted to happen didn't happen. We don't always get what we want in life.

Many of us would have liked to give Arl Howe a long and painful death, but we didn't get that opportunity. Many of us wanted to kill Anora ourselves, but nope. Didn't happen. A lot of us wanted Vaughan to die in agony as well, but that didn't happen either. Many of us wanted Duncan to survive and not die, but he died.  Bioware should get away from cliches and give us something else. Perhaps make her seem like an ally at the beginning, but then make her a real callous soicopathic meglomaniac.

Nothing wrong with leaving a story unfinished. And yes I am tired about hearing about Oghren and Morrigan and in part Alistair.

What is attractive about Morrigan.

Firstly Claudia Black's voice .....accompanied by the diminuitive and fragile pretty Goth chick...what's more she's a badass and is gonna trample all over your heart and flirt with your mates...say anything and you get a tongue lashing cos she's way more intelligent than you...

Then she stares...says something nice and has you dancing to her tune like a gimp. She knows she's got you under her shoe.

Why do you go back for more ?

I want to see Morrigan in the game again, but I would like to give my personal opinion on the situation as a gauge. I romanced Morrigan in the first game because Origins emphasized the game took place from a first-person perspective, from the character customization to the dialogue scheme, and I acted as I would if I were in that world. Dragon Age 2 takes place from Hawke's perspective. If I modify the appearance to be like my own as I did in the first game, there'd be like two freaky clones running around in the world. This is one of the first RPGs where I may (50/50) actually choose to play as a female, because Origins predisposes me to NOT be myself in DA2.

Since I romanced Morrigan in Origins, I will not romance her in DA2 if it's an option, 'cause that's like... cheating on myself? Or something? Likewise, I will probably choose not to kill her, because I'd rather if the Warden could negotiate with her if there was a problem. So for this reason, I hope she's not like... a main boss, or a "romance or kill" situation or something, as the writers might assume that's the right way to go since people normally either hate or love her.

I know what you mean Tony

If morrigan returns as a romanceable character she's getting the knife too.

Think about it..your at home babysitting in a wooden hut somewhere .While she's out gettin knobbed off the cute guy with muscles from the next village..yeah right.
