Dude, you've got it all wrong. It's a duel between Darth Gaider and Luke Laidlaw.Mike Laidlaw wrote...
This is the key to Dragon Age: Gaider and Laidlaw locked in a Balrog-and-Galdalf-like duel as we plunge through the burning heart of Thedas.Brockololly wrote...
Dammit man, Laidlaw comes in and instills a little hope only for Darth Gaider to bust down the door and force choke the hope out of the poor Morrigan romancing Wardens and Morrigan fans.
Someone should really get on drawing that, and try to work a chrome griffon playing an electric guitar into the background somewhere.

At this point all I can say is that I personally do not believe the Morrigan fans will be disappointed by what the future has in store.
Some people like Morrigan because she is "hawt" and some others like her because of the character they saw through the eyes of the Warden.
The great thing about DAO companions is the relations you could build with them while explorign their personalities. The bastard prince who starts off as a whimp and grows a spine... the assassin who tries to kill you and then becomes your friend... Sten and his honor code... Oghren's confession at the gates.... the defrosting of Morrigan and so on. All that while playing your Grey Warden.
You could play as a female and have her call you "sister" or you could play a male and have a child with her.
If you belong in the former group of Morrigan fans, then, great. You won't be disappointed. You get to stare at her boobs on the improved graphics engine. But if you belong in the group that explored her character though the Warden and managed to "defrost" her, then brace your self for major disappointment. Any emotional attachment you had to the character is gonna disappear when you realize that Hawke and Morrigan are just two strangers that know nothing about each other. Furthermore, you as the player are going to feel so disconnected when the dialogue wheel does not represent the things you want to say to her. Instead of asking "whys" and "hows" the only options you are going to have are "hello" and "who are you".
The worst thing you could do to Morrigan fans(IMO) was to toss a big cliffhanfer at them and then give them a new character to resolve her story.... and you just went ahead and did that, didn't you? Sorry, but I'm not interested at all to see what you have in store for her when you take away the character that made her what she is.
If you can't resolve a storyline properly then don't resolve it at all.
Just my 2c.
I'll second this and bump as a favor to the OP. My prediction based on what I have observed since Nov: Due to a glitch, or oversight, or just plain malice, when the majority of romancing Wardens meet Morrigan at their long anticipated reunion in the future, she greets them with "What comes my friend?"
And yes this is me at my sunshiny best.
BTW blademaster, I agree to a tee.

I vote, he finds her struggling. She had a power plan, grew up gaming with humans hunting her as a little girl, but falling in love with the Warden in DAO, threw her a curveball. As she said, it wasn't part of the [Flemeth--or Morrigan for that matter] plan. That sorrow and regret, the ring, her inability to deal with something new, cracks the door open for her redemption and the protection of the OGB to become an awesome force for good, like Leto II Atreides in Dune, a future quasi-omnipotent ruler for thousands of years. Or something like that would be cool. One of may story branches BW could play with. Like Star Trek, there could be parrallel universes, making maximum fans happy.

The devs do things they want not what the fans want. If they want to make more Morrigan-focused content, we'll get more Morrigan-focused content.
Well, if we use that logic then I guess us noisy Morri fans are in for a treat eventually.

Well it seems they intend to keep apdating the DA content, even when DA2 is released, to keep the people who love the original saga interested. "BioWare is going to keep making downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins, and that they are planning to keep the DA:O franchise going for as long as they can — so the changes in Dragon Age 2 aren’t necessarily the end for more traditional roleplayers. " Quoted from Comic con.
All the Comic con feedback is the most encouraging news I've heard thus far. Hope's up.

Saying that tho, like the game has had all the way through, there could be different options, like 1) Find morrigan, restore the love w/e 2) find her kill her (for all those who dont like her) 3) Some sort of massive venture through the most horrible and evil of territorys to find her/or kill her possible end boss. just some options here, they could make viable options for people of both like and dislike, it end a win win senario.
Good idea. Devs take notes, pls.

somewhat happy. At least no one will be unhappy because others got an extra party member while they'd only get Morrigan. Honestly I couldn't really accept anything less for something/someone as important as the "God Baby", ya know - AT LEAST a companion, if not the main antagonist. But that's my problem...
Writing off the God Baby by having Morrigan miscarry would be as lame as having the writers come up with some solution where the US players end up with Morrigan going around them to get the OGB some other way. It would cheapen the whole point of the DR choice.
As far as any Warden/Morrigan reunion, I don't think it should automatically end tragically or automatically have to involve killing the EVIL Old God Baby. To me, that route is the predictable and boring one- everyone thinks the DR is some nasty heinous deed. I'd love it if we had a choice in how such a reunion played out- maybe one possibility is a tragic ending but maybe another is a relatively happy ending- not like settling down to Leave it to Beaver style, but something that leaves the Warden's little family alive and not necessarily wallowing in sorrow and regret.
Maybe the "happy" ending requires walking a very difficult path, but I'd prefer it if there is some choice in the matter of how Morrigan and the Warden's story ends.
And just making the OGB to be some evil villain in the future is boring- its Dragon Age so it won't end up being black and white like that, I hope.JoePinasi1989 wrote...
Personally I think the whole "kill Flemeth" part was just a complicated ruse to make the Warden believe the baby would not end up in Flemeth's hands. Ya know, if she ever managed to posses THAT, well... he he...
Oh, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Flemeth has been pulling the strings and maybe the DR ends up with unintended consequences for Morrigan or the Warden. But to just have Flemeth body snatch the OGB? First, I don't think her body snatching works that way. From what Morrigan explained, Flemeth basically steals the body and boots out the soul of the previous inhabitant. Would Flemeth want to take over the body of a 5 year old? And from my understanding, its the SOUL of the Old God thats important about the OGB. So, wouldn't Flemeth taking over the body negate the special nature of the OG soul?
Unless of course, perhaps, each time FLemeth takes over a new body, she doesn't kick out the soul but rather, in all her abomination-ness, basically absorbs or eats the soul and picks up the powers and identity of that person. Maybe each human form she can take is the identity of one of her previous daughters?
Good points. I want to emphasize that in DAO if you quiz Morri on the child ( I did--she was my romance so I erred on the side of "what about us? dude, that's our child you are talking about! what about all those things you said you felt for me back at the camp?"), she states that she seeks to preserve the essence of OG not what corrupted it. Also said no harm would come to it. So yes, OGB is not automatically evill. A good story line could be to play Morri and child as struggling between temptations of power and the good inlfuene of the Warden. There should be an option for a little Wrden family style ending. Yes, make it hard so the hardcore Morrigna-holics can have their way and declare EA/BW/ DAO as a masterpiece of gaming, sotrytelling and franchises for decades to come.

Simple. Parody this scene and the one where Gandalf escapes on Gwaihir replacing the eagle with a griffon.
Edit: I may have to do this myself actually...
You don't understand. I can't just simply parody it. That would be a "really? reeeeeeeeeealllly?" moment. It would be a cheap gag. I require a bit more. I'd like to hope that my readers do, too.

granted... i'm wondering more about what her return would mean if she didn't get a dragon baby out of you/alistair/loghain...
maybe that's what varric the dwarf's role is as narrator... you probably make his responses so you can choose to have slept with her/not, along with the multitude of choices that you made first game, without loading and old saved game file...
wait... his role is to narrate hawke's story, not the DA:O warden... hmmm... dangit... back to square one...

I do not hate Morrigan i do dislike Morrigan's character as i believe your supposed to. I believe Morrigan is the villian of the story and i have laid out my points to support this on many occasions, but it is like talking religion to a believer, you can make all the sense you want but there is no accounting for people's tastes. I think a DLC is perfect for a fit for a simple option for a simple character. But as many of you folks are begging for what is your perfect happy ending all i am saying is how about giving me my happy ending, i am rooting for you to get yours, why can there never be any reciprocity concerning mine?

Sorry to say this BUT Morrigan's story IS finished unless you do the Dark Ritual. I really hope the developers give you fans your closure to the Morrigan story prefferably in some DLC content just before DA2 so you can get it out of your systems. And being fair the DLC needs to have a way to finally end the Morrigan story by a sword through the abdomen, followed by a nice litle cut scene of her bleeding out and the shine fading from her eyes, followed by an simple boot to the back to roll the waste of flesh into shallow unmarked grave. That is a happy ending.

If I didn't know any better I would say there is a hint of jealousy towards the obsession of Morrigan-holics
