I would buy it, but I'd be very sore on them and be sure to make sure they know. As far as their fans go, it'd be a ****storm because you'd have the side who "called it" then the group that held out hope and defended Bioware. All in all, I'd be royally miffed to the point I may not buy another Bioware game(Not that it would make a difference to them)
Im on Biowares side, I dont think the would f*ck us over, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I wouldn't be against getting ME3 if every old character was removed, but it would need to have some extremely good new characters to replace those lost, and a sufficient combat system as well.

However, if the game features an entirely new squad I may wait for non-professional reviews of the game. Since ME2 accomplished little plot wise, and the game is heavily centered around getting to know Shepard's crew, the current situation of the various characters are all I have to look forward to in ME3.

I agree, If all the LIs made a return, and others got cameos, I would open my arms wide to anyone new.-Skorpious- wrote...
Asking for a return of every character is a bit optimistic, but all the LI's should at least come back. That way we have enough familiar faces on the crew to welcome any new characters that may join the crew in ME3.

If Bioware decides to create a completly new squad, how many of you would still fully enjoy or buy ME3?
I would honestly reconsider buying it if this happened, what about you guys?
I would wait till the price goes down and buy the game used, all new squad mates would suck.

I'll take a new squad, and my LI from ME2. that's bare minimum of what i want/expect. Anything less, and I'd seriously consider not buying.

None of the squad at all, and writing off everyone with meh reasons?
It would damage my opinion of the company. I would buy it anyway just to see how the story would end but they would lose my future business.

Of course there should be new characters; they simply shouldn't replace fan-favorites.
If bioware goes by that then all the characters will be returning because every squadmate is a favorite to sombody. As for me, Tali, Mordin and Legion take the cake.

Certain characters don't make sense to not come back in ME3, provided they survived the suicide mission. Primarily, Miranda, Jacob, Tali, and Garus. Miranda and Jacob are essentially your command core for the SR2 and serve as Shepard's anchors to the plot. Tali and Garus have been with the series from the beginning with well developed(and liked) characters, providing a much needed sense of familiarity for the player. Even when no one else could be bothered to rejoin Shepard, Tali and Garus were there to keep the threads of the past connected to the present.
Other characters don't make a whole lot of sense to return in ME3. Thane is terminal, I understand that Jack has degrading neural functions from her biotic-enhancements, Mordin is getting too old (even though I love him as a character), and Samara only bound herself to you for the duration of the mission, and will likely return to her Justicar duties. Zaeed and Kasumi are both esentially mercenaries hired for the mission, and have no particular reason to stick around, not to mention their DLC status ensures not everyone even had access to them.
Legion is a toss up. He serves an important role as liaison to the Geth, but he does need to eventually reconnect with them.

I propose bringing back the old squaddies, except Wrex. Then give 4-6 new ones for the LCD's(those who came out with the bare minimum of 4 players) and the new players(all 6 of them). So there'll be 8 min and 22 max. Some consider this unrealistic but considering 16 will be premodeled and there would likely be a set of macros made for lip shapes of different races. That would leave touch up work on the models. I'm not saying this is the most likely situation. It's certainly not unheard of though. Especially considering Bioware's budgets have likely only increased with the success of their projects, as displayed by their desire to bridge the entire gap between ME2 and ME3 with DLC.Zack56 wrote...

Also, I hear a lot of "why put all the effort into dialogue only a few people will hear?" Well how much dialogue do you think the average player hears? Let's assume the average player does 4 playthroughs (maybe on these forums but wayyy to high for a normal gamer) that means that he hears 4 unique character lines from any given mission (maybe 5, but only if he restarted a mission) and that's only the audio files and situations that made it INTO the game.(same sex voice options were recorded for many combinations, as well as hidden codex, and then there's situations that were just bugged) That's also not counting the bridge DLC that the average player won't buy...
Of course, that's just my opinion.

Still, its irrelevant. The devs already announced that Kaiden & Liara would join the team in ME3.
Not sure about Wrex... probably not (lets out a tear).

I can understand, say, Samara and such not returning - give her or Morinth a future mission where she may have importance, but replace her 'asari slot' with Liara?
But I anticipate most of them to return. The arguments against it make no sense, and ME2 is supposed to head right into ME3 anyway, with ME2 DLC only filling in the time between them. We're fine people...
But I do want my Kaiden back for a m/m (boo to the naysayers, haha), and Liara for whatever important reason she had to survive the trilogy for, and Tali and Garrus back because WOW WILL PEOPLE BE UPSET if they aren't!

Wait, where did they?
Oh this makes me excited for a 'sexy man' team of mShepard, Jacob, and Kaiden. rofl
And yeah, as long as Wrex, if alive, gives an amazing showing in the events of the game, I'm good
As a sidenote (since Wrex death reminded me of this), I see sort of *2* different kinds of DefaultSheps going on:
1)New player DefaultShep, where Wrex is dead, as part of uncomplicating the story for new players.
2)Canon DefaultShep, where Wrex is alive, as part of future games. I'm sure he, and according to a great argument I read here Grunt as well, will play a big role in the history of the krogan, so if there are games in the future, they should be kept alive.
