And by this, I mean make fade shroud (and spirits like in the gauntlet) look like weird geometric zombies.  I forgot to cut off combat magic before my warden's little scene with Leliana and that is quite possibly the scariest thing I have ever seen in a videogame.  The eyes just make me want to crawl in the fetal position.

I don't have my issue of Game informer on me, but didn't they say spell effects will turn off during cutscenes?

They will. I don't think it was in the issue, I think it was an interview, though.

The entire reason I didn't go AW was because of it.

I liked it sometimes--I just hated how you could see eyes, lips, and tongue straight through your body. Also, that NPCs didn't react to it.

yeah the fade shroud effect was annoying specially in cutscenes, but it bugged me in general gameplay aswell, same as the spirit warriors mode.... i forget what it was called now.

The spirit warrior buff in awakenings was even worse.

EDIT: I wonder if buffs will be excluded during cutscenes, or just active spells

They could easily make a toggle button for any and all sustained abilities and non-magical VFX, for all VFX really! That would be great.

EDIT

Actually, wasn't there another thread for this discussion?
