I love pause and play. I gives me time to think about my strategy and it makes the game very rewarding. So yeah less pause and play would be a dumb idea. We don't need more action RPGs!

I find pause and play and turn based battle systems to be far more enjoyable then the standard hack'n'slash most people seem to enjoy.

I like pause and play, but largely because not being able to pause when my character's low on health would make it more difficult to target that heal spell (not the type of difficulty I want in my games, personally).

It also gives me a chance to see what's going on, make sure everyone's *doing* something (because in DA the tactics handlers occasionally got stuck), make sure Alistair's not dashing off into an Inferno or Tempest, and see if there's anything more interesting going on than what I'm looking at right now.

I like pause and play and I pause often to make sure my companions take their health poultices and use the skills I want them to. I get excessive problems with lag sometimes when I'm in battles so pausing is necessary for me.

I think I read in Game Informer that they will be concentrating more on action then pause and play in DA2.

Did anyone find any such quote? This whole thread seems to be based on a false premise.

I never saw any such quote in the first place.

I'm throwing in with these guys. Pause 'n' play is awesome and we already have tons of action RPGs. We don't need more.

You may be right.. that's why I said "I think" I read it.. I would re-read the article if I had it with me. I remember them saying that they're giving DA2 a "shot of adrenaline" which gave me the impression they were going for more action.

In any case, it's still a point for discussion. Pause and play is a subject I argue over with people sometimes in real life. However, after reading through the comments.. I think I gave people the idea that I want a hack and slash. To that I say nay. Very nay. I want strategic action with less pausing. My favorite games to play are RTS games like Majesty 2, SRPGs like FF Tactics and Disgaea, and of course.. MW2. I think my favorite games represent exactly what kind of gameplay I want in DA2. I want the strategic prowess of Disgaea with the dizzying action of MW2.

I might be asking the impossible.
