Did someone actually succeeded in creating a decent looking elf male/female?
I can make a male elf look reasonable, but my female creations never look anything like the elf npc's that Bioware made.

This could ofcourse just be my lack of cc skill, just wonderingPosted Image..

EDIT: Forgot to say that i want to use a femme fatale for the city elf origin, in case your wondering why i still haven't figured it outPosted Image.

These elf females are included in my CC preset mod, perhaps they might help you?

Ty for the reply, but im more interested in original cc creations, without mods/altered presets and morph's.

Still, very nice looking char's, well done.

If only the cc would allow me to make those..:D

Good looking female elf, do you happen to know the slider settings for her?

Unfortunately I don't, she was my first creation. But I guess she might give you a few ideas for the cc

Really get that mystical, yet beautiful vibe from these screens. I also find that the char in screen 2 fits in other lore as well.
Am i wrong if I say that you we're inspired by an anime or manga?

Mochen, it certainly inspires me to make a char that is a little less anorexic, and more ehhh, 'meat'?
I''ll mess around with the settings, and see what i'll come up with.

EDIT: I mean more ehhh, damn... clean? As in less wrinkles?Posted ImagePosted Image

Thanks -much appreciated.

Well, they are inspired by countless fantasy anime - my favorite anime though would have female hero
- on the same charisma and education level et c. as the main villain - not the average male teenage retard
or the female noble with scars inside:happy:

It won't be easy....and in my opinion....it would be very, very difficult. To my knowledge, I have not seen many elf renditions which only use CC, doesn't  use textures/mods....which look...palatable..

One thing to keep in mind is that working with the sliders are sort of geared to look like a "Bioware elf".  That may or may not be a bad thing if you enjoy the way that Bioware elves look in Dragon Age...

I personally am not a fan of the Bioware elves...and use the toolset..because you aren't force-fed with a limited palette...you can create your own palette..

Again, this is just my personal take...but I've dabbled with CC since it's release..and although the toolset is daunting at first, it's much more rewarding because you really can make much more powerful designs than with what was provided with CC.

You know Pete I can't really agree to that.

I made a lot of Characters only with the CC - simple using the mod's from Dragon Age to improve them.

Toolset is a **** - but I have to admit you have a LOT more possibilities to create a character, or tuning them in the way you like

@Ghost-Sniper there are some Mod's around which are very good and gave a bit more freedom to make a character in Toolset.

I made Isilwen only in Toolset - but unfortunately like mochen - I have no sliders saved

You are correct. But it looks like he is looking for a "pure" rendition. No mods, no textures, no presets, and only CC. I just personally felt that might be a bit hard to do..

mmh.. I made my Male Elf without any mods and such stuff - and since there I never could create a nearly as good looking male elf like him >.< - not even with the toolset. *grins*

If you want to have a look Ghost-Sniper its in *My Characters* Album - Therron the Dalish Elf

If he's say, not playing on a pc I can see why he wants a clean rendition, but if he is I don't see why he'd not want to use any mods at all. I make *all* of my characters in the creation screen, and I find all the lovely mods way helpful, it's highly recommended. With mods I'd say it's highly possible to make a good looking male and female elf, but without.. Not half as good imo.

This one was done in cc only, again with just 1 hairstyle mod. It's tricky as options are so limited.

I love making elf characters, and one of the things that bummed me about the CC was that you could not make their ears elongated. I am not a fan of super huge elf ears, but I do want it to be recongnizable that the character is an elf.

I will try to make some attractive elves just with default settings tonight and see what I come up with.

I am on pc, yes, but I just want to finish dao once before I use any mods (still haven't beaten it, can't really get into my characters).

Ty for all the reply's though, looking at the characters you all have certainly gave me some idea's.

I do like the Bioware elf look, since i think it fits the lore well.

They're not the fairest of them all, some are downright ugly, but it's nice to see some other elf characters then, let's say 'Legolas'..:P

It is hard to make a, as you call it, 'pure' character. But it would be nice if I can loose the anorexic look (like some npc's have), and create a elf with some meat on her bones.

But, maybe I just try to much and should stick to humans/dwarfs for a while:)

I can understand that, my first playthrough was done without any mods at all. But honestly, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I'd used a few of the mods out there. Seeing as you want to keep it as simple as possible, I'd suggest VirusCat's preset mods, they're improvements of the originals and have not strayed far from the original presets. Just a suggestion, though. :)

The vanilla face textures make it real hard to create an elf wich doesn't look gaunt
- main reason is that the texture files aren't plain; they are, in a lack of a better term
'pres-shaded'

Neveri, ty for the suggestion, will take a look, and see if I like them.

Chairon, indeed. Maybe it's something the developers did intentionally, but fact remains that the toolset is much better to create characters. To bad they didn't expand the original cc, even though it still remains complex.

My time as a gamedesigner taught me that implementing something in a game doesn't always go smooth, so I have some idea's as to why they didn't include those extra options.

EDIT: wanted to add that the reason i'm not touching the toolset is because I don't want to delve into it, before i get hooked as i got with the hammer toolset from half-life 2Posted Image

@ toolset: what I really miss are the good community quest mods
- well hence hence good adventures like 'Demon', 'Citadel of Blood'
or 'Solaufein' (all for NWN oc) or the community expansion pack took
years of development, chances are the 1rst 'hal of fame' da o
aspirants come when BW is already working on DA 3 :wizard:

Reminds me that that the vanilla NWN oc heads were a
lot worse than what we have now...
- maybe because they never were meant to be looked at in
closeup screenshots :P

I have to agree with you, some of those we're downright better then a couple of the vanilla quests.

There are however some good quality mods out there, have you tried Kal'sharok? And Fragments of Ferelden? Very decent and thought out.

I have the one in my avatar picture, though this terrible photo does no justice to how good she really looks.
