I got a Neverwinter Nights in this nifty flash drive.  It seems to work pretty well just by connecting it to another PC and playing the game from the flash/thumb drive.

Then I got to thinking .. would it be possible for me to hook it up to my MacBook Pro and start playing NWN using it?  Would be great to play it on the road like that.

Is it possible without too much difficulty?   I do not have any version of WIndows on it, btw.

Thanks,

Joe C.

I don't personally know of anyone who's tried doing that, but it could work in theory.

You'd need to get the Mac executable, Miles Carbon Library and a few override files added to your PC install. See 3.07 and 3.09(#4) of the Mac NWN FAQ sticky (3.09 assumes you want a Mac-only install, but in your case instead of getting rid of the PC executable you'd leave it in place). Then, when you're on a Mac you'd launch the Mac executable and vice-versa when you're on a Windows PC. All the other resources are cross-platform, so in theory, it should work.

If you try it, let us know how it works!

Hmm .. I assume then upon reading the Mac NWN FAQ that I would then need to buy the Mac version of NWN to get that Mac exec file, correct?

Definitely is getting harder to find these days. I don't even think the PC version is sold in stores like Walmart/Kmart anymore.

I'll think about it. And if I do get it running I'll let you know. Right now though it does seem a bit more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks for the reply!

Why thanks there, Mr. Bundy. :)

Actually I had planned all along to do Bootcamp on it to play some of my PC games.

Just trying to decide what to put on it. Win 7 seems like the obvious choice. But .. most of my games work fine in XP. NWN certainly does. And am most familiar with the workings of XP.

So .. what to put on it? XP or Windows 7? Though like copies of NWN, my guess is XP is getting more and more difficult to find as well.
