Those who have read Dragon Age: The Calling know that his mother was not some serving girl in a castle but an elven mage that was also a Grey Warden named Fiona. I know that she did not wish Alistair to know about her since she didn't want him to suffer because of her elven blood... but there was one part bothering me.
His sister.
Surely his sister would know that their mother wasn't some mere serving girl. Judging the way Fiona felt regarding her past it would seem like such a backword step to take. Perhaps at the time baby Alistair arrived at Redcliff, Goldanna's mother had past away while giving birth, the baby along with it, allowing the perfect cover for our favorite bastard prince
Unless of course, Fiona had another baby prior to becoming a Grey Warden but it seems doubtful a Grey Warden would be able to have two children after the joining unless it was before drinking darkspawn blood.
Anyways I have no doubt the pendant he was given was Fiona's. It would seem too cruel to not have anything connected to the mother he truly does not know.
Thoughts?
