Goldanna also says that she thought the baby died. And was paid to not say anything, though she knew the child was Maric's. This would be at odds, if the baby was not Alistair.

What about Wynne's son? I'm not done yet, but is any resolution found with this at all?

Fiona was adamant that her son not know that his mother was an elf.  So if Maric went to Arl Eamon for help in giving his son a home, and there was a servant there who just had a child, and both mother and child died, it would be a convenient lie to tell everyone that Fiona's baby belonged to the servant.  Kicking out Goldanna would make sense to keep the secret, since Arl Eamon doesn't seem like a jerk who would kick kids out on the street for no reason.

As for Wynne's son, are you referring to her student who ran away?  That wasn't her son, it was an elf, and you can find out more about him in the Brecilian Forest.

It is possible that they lied to Goldanna and Alistair concerning his "mother". What I can't think as to why they did it was telling him he was Maric's son when Fiona asked Maric not to tell him about it. Why did they do this, I am speaking about Arl Eamon. Did he suspect Loghain might kill Maric and later Cailan?

Another question, does anyone know how old is Alistair and how old would Fiona's son would be at the time fo the game?

But Goldanna was paid NOT to say anything.  if they were trying to get people to believe the lie, they wouldn't have done that.  They would want her to talk.

Maybe Connor is really Fiona's.

And no, not Wynne's student. Wynne also had a son who was taken away from her, and she has no idea what happened to him.    Alistar and Wynne bantor brings this up.

I don't think Arl Eamon and Maric were really trying to keep Alistair's existence a secret, no matter who his mother was, since everyone, including Anora, seemed to know about him and accept him as Maric's son ahead of time.  Goldanna also believed that Maric forced himself on her mother, which I have a REALLY hard time believing.

My own theory (IF Alistair is Fiona's son) is that Maric found the pregnant maid, made a deal to switch babies so that Alistair could be raised at Redcliffe, and then she and the real kid died in childbirth.  Alistair was probably already too old to be passed off as a newborn, so they told Goldanna to beat it, since she'd be the closest person around to be suspicious.

Connor is way too young to be Fiona's child, and the reasons Isolde kept his magic a secret was 1) that she is very religious and the Chantry teaches that magic is evil and 2) he would have to give up his claim as future Arl of Redcliffe.

I missed out on that particular banter between Wynne and Alistair, even though they were in my party for most of the game!  I'll have to check that out, Wynne is one of my favorite characters.

It is possible for Grey Warden females to have children. :) It's just something that is extremely unlikely. The same goes for male Grey Wardens too.

And for two Grey Wardens to have children with each other, almost impossible.

Alistair and my Grey Warden will overcome any obstacles with the power of TRUE LOVE!  Image IPB

And a lot of time in the tent apparently. If at first you don't succeed...huh? :P
