Guys, Matthew Fox is 44. If the film takes three years to produce and shoot, he will be 47. If Mass Effect 2 gets the go ahead, he would be pushing 50.
Make up man, make up.

Movie based on ME 1, there are at least 4 major plot points that would polarise fans :
1) Rachni Queen
2) Wrex on Virmire
3) Survivor of Virmire
4) Destiny Ascension
heres what will most likely happen
1) Rachni Queen : lives, paragon shep
2) Wrex on virmire: lives, cause really who wants to kill wrex
3) Survivor on virmire: Ashely, as Movie Shep has a high probability of being male and the love interest will service
4) Destiny Ascension: saved by alliance crew, cause of Paragon shep
ok every one i swear i have posted something similar to this in about half of the movie threads i see. and i can believe their arent more people who can see how this movie will run.
Male Shepard, Why you ask? because the majority of people who will see this movie are going to be male, and may not of even played the game, and their arent that many older female action stars out there.
Continuity: ITS GONNA BE BASED ON MASS EFFECT 1!!!, NOT THE FIRST CONTACT WAR NOT ANY **** WITH A SQUAD MATE, ITS GONNA BE MASS EFFECT 1, PARAGON SIDE, BECAUSE FOR THE CASUAL FANS, OR THE PEOPLE WHO HEARD ABOUT THE GAME SECOND HAND WONT UNDERSTAND. REMEMBER THIS MOVIE IS NOT BEING MADE SOLELY FOR THE FANS BECAUSE WE WANT IT, ITS BEING MADE BECAUSE ITS A HOT PROPERTY.

If there MUST be a Shepard...how about ManShep and his (long lost) sister, FemShep?

I want the movie to be about the first contact war.
Shep being male or female doesnt actually BOTHER me.. assuming the person can act.
I want the BEST actor ever as shepard.
The best actor in my opinion happens to be Vin Diesal... he is Baddass in a can.

Of course, it should be femshep.
And Vin Diesel will just scream Riddick throughout the film, were he to play Shepard. Or in the opening scene, Vin Diesel would ask Joker how quickly the Normandy could travel a quarter of a mile.
Though he would be preferable to the Rock. Please don't let the Rock play Shepard.

If there has to be a Shepard, though, I'd say ManShep. He's the face of the game, the default character used in all the marketing and post-release content. ME2 figure? ManShep. ME2 posters? ManShep. ME posters? ManShep. It's the least "difficult" way for them to do it.

That's very possibly a good choice - she can do strong female roles but we hardly ever see it... I think Scott Pilgrim's like the only example. Personally I'm hoping for a performance capture film where they could have a femshep (I vote for mine, haha), and get Jennifer Hale to do the voice, and get a guy to do the physical stuff. Perfect.

Yup, except one actor or actress as Shep for each film.
You know I wish they did that for the marketing of these games, but for some reason they thought the customers would be too THICK to understand what was going on....
