The movie shouldn't involve Shepard at all. Instead it needs to be a prequel focusing on Liara and her research of the Protheans.

WE LOVE YOU LIARA!!! XOXOXO

This...Indiana Jones style.

female leads in action/adventure movies dont do so well, unless she is very hot and revealing.

Thats just how it works, action movies appeal to a young male demographic group, and we want a competent indiana jones adventurer, or a busty lara croft

Mmm. Like that disastrous, unpopular movie Aliens...

Sarcasm Level Up!

Sarah Connor would also like a word with the person that suggested action/adventure films with female leads do not sell well...

Anyway, I love the aforementioned Liara prequel movie idea. I'd be first in line to see it!

aliens was a very well done exception. The amount of death and chest bursting made up for the female protagonist,  as well as introducing a pop iicon alien that all will remember.

Susan Ivanova would like a word with you......so would Delenn. Female leads can be extreamly kickass in TV or movies. Kill Bill's Uma Therman and many of the supporting cast would also be applicable to non Tomb Raider crap roles.

yes but these are all exceptions and they are all being drowned in a sea of male leads, in everything from B movies to hollywood style action blockbusters

If you can name me a few dozen female action stars , I can surely name hundreds of males

So your argument is; since there are so few prominent female leads, there shouldn't be any female leads.

I really wish this weren't true, because it still means we have a long way to go before people start taking women seriously in action roles.

I get the want for her to be attractive but revealing? Why? Because your male hormones demand that she be less tough than you by flaunting her body every which way and thus cementing the fact that's she's a woman and not to be taken seriously?

Whilst I would prefer this movie not to be made about Shepard in the first place for canon forcing, I will go with FemShep.

We have had enough muscled, gun-toting, shorn-haired, beard/stubbly faced, gravelly-voiced, chiseled and/or scarred men as protaganists to last us until, oh, I don't know, the end of time? Heavy smoking and whiskey drinking not included.

Ummm as a dude I would have to say the stereotypical big boobed, female protagonist. AKA Tomb raider, really doesn't do it for me. A great female actress that is yes good looking but in a tough way would be Michelle Rodriguez, I could see her being Shepard.

Oh and good female leads.

Kill Bill

Aliens

Werent lead but great supporting

Bourne series, both Joan Allen and Julia Stiles

Michelle Rodriguez in avatar and SWAT

I smell a troll.

Or intense sarcasm.

I'm not quite sure which, the first wouldn't surprise me. <_<

FemShep! Unless they can actually get Van der loo to play Shepard.

Yeah, that will be a highly bashed post! LOL!

So your defense for having ME movie with a Male shep lead is because male leads are more prevalent in action roles? Meh, not good enough since female roles have been gaining steam since Aliens. I still stand by my orginal feelings that the ME movie shouldnt have Shep period. It would turn into "Generic space adventure Yet Again" or "Gone where many Action movies have gone before"

Some of the content of this thread is making me facepalm quite hard.

There is quite a severe lack of well-done and well written female protagonists in Western cinema. There is a dire need for more of them, I believe.

I look at the Tali thread, and it gives me the illusion of the second one, but I dunno...
