how bout all the clean shaven, long spiky haired, kind voiced, awesome, cool kids that throw fireballs and use kung fu.
Them as well. We have enough male protagonists.

There are more of than you thinkI would be entirely refreshing for them to cast Femshep because casting Maleshep is so painfully predictable.
why am I an idiot?
you can't blame me for being attracted to the opposite gender in such a way? I'm sure you would be just as excited to see a naked orlando Bloom
AND NO, there will be nevar enough male action stars. As evidenced by the upcoming testosterone fest: The Expendables

I, for one sincerely hope that the movie focuses on some other part of the ME universe, A completely different plot, leaving out Shep and the gang. But, since I'm getting off topic here, how about FemShep, actually played by Jennifer Hale? Seriously, it would be great.

riiiight, that is why majority of the posters here who don't want a male shep are females themself

You make an assumption that because I'm female I'll immediately be hot and bothered over what's his face Bloom.
I don't swing that way. *points at signatures*

So why can't there be one instance where they do something different, hm? Let a woman be the saviour of the world/galaxy/universe/existence whatever. Is it so completely terrible that a female could do just as good a job, if not better than a male lead? <_<

That being said, if they do make it about Shepard it will be a male Shepard, simply because the male Shepard has always been their marketing Shepard. I don't see them changing their marketing plan for the movie.
I disagree however that this is because females can't be taken seriously as action heroes. Plenty have been The Resident Evil movies, for one managed to be the number one at the box office. Alien and Aliens were both ridiculously successful, Kill Bill, and many other movies that feature tough women in supporting roles as well. I don't think that argument is really valid. Although I understand the idea that testosterone fueled action flicks like The Expendables are aimed toward a male audience and therefore feature everything a manly manlike man could ever want.
It just depends on the kind of film you want to make. I liken Expendables to something like Tomb Raider. Nobody expects any of these characters to be taken seriously as real characters. Lara Croft is a hollow one dimensional blockbuster bambi compared to Ellen Ripley.
