Playing as male Shepard, when you ask Kelly if she's OK, it sounds literally like a soap opera.

I think Male Shepard is underrated, but this line was just awful.

One of the few lines in the game to break immersion for me and have me go, "Ugh that was just awful."

You know, I've never seen this before. What a find. I mean, manshep always sounds like a tool when talking to Kelly ("I could use a hug too!"), but when you couple that with an over the top flashback, the results are staggering.

The unintentional comedy of that line is just too much.

It's like Kelly channeled a Drell.

RUN ALL YOU WANT HARKIN!

also when Jacob tells you to hit the valve during the first part of the suicide mission he is acting way too hard.

And thereby lost the power to use complete sentences* when describing something that occurred in the past.  At least her eyes don't totally bug out.

*Irony?

I thought it was supposed to imply Kelly has eidetic memory like Thane does...

You want bad lines?

"Oh by the Goddess! How could I be so dense? You must think I'm a complete and utter fool."

That line was delivered so badly I thought Liara was either mocking me or doing a very bad job of lying.

I'm still not sure whether that was thick Afrikaans or just bad voice acting.
...well, it was bad voice acting either way; but you get my drift.

I'd like to mention most of The Illusive Man's lines, myself.
You get a great actor like Martin Sheen, and you have him deliver such nuggets as "Cerbereus isn't as evil as you think"?
It gave me the strange sensation of watching a saturday morning cartoon with an a-list cast.

Yeah, got to agree there... some of the dialogue is a little cringe-worthy in parts, and it seems fairly indiscriminate: almost every character has a line that just comes out all wrong and as ripe as a high-school drama club production. Poor ol' TIM does have a couple of dazzlers. Out of all the characters that seem to pitch their lines all the way back to the cheap seats, I think Aria is perhaps the worst offender, seconded by the gleefully malicious and bitter Baria Frontiers rep who comes off as way too wicked-witch-y to take seriously.

As for Donovan Hock... I think I can forgive that... I just keep thinking "Ah, you're a sneaky fookin' praun!" ;)

"Don't **** with Aria."

Very cringeworthy.

The entire exchange between Liara and her mother was so bad that I remember actually groaning.

I think Habry takes the cake for his awful combat dialogue.

Harbinger is so over the top. I relish every encounter with my glowing, smack-talking alien friend.

I like how every single romance in Mass Effect 2 has a line or facial expression that totally ruins the scene.

It's a shame that FemShep's borderline sexual-offender attitude and the subsequent climax to Jacob's romance path is such a sordid mess. Because he's probably the one character to outright show a legitimate interest in Shepard's feelings and concerns.

Absolutely; that was the worst thing I heard in all of ME1.

Almost everything Liara has said is overdramatic as well as quite a few other lines from ME.
But IMO there aren't many lines like that in ME2.

LOL...

The thing about Hock is, it's kinda hard to take him seriously when he sounds exactly like Kenneth in engineering. It's no fault of John Ullyatt's, but his voice is just too recognisable.

I think the most melodramatic line in the whole game is, "Thane, be alive with me tonight..." Gah. It's like something out of a romance novel. I go through a whole romance and that's the line you end it on? Seriously??

Pretty much anything in Jacob's loyalty mission is pretty melodramatic. That whole mission is just pure soap opera.

As for generally cringeworthy, I'd say 'the priiiiize', but it's just so bad it's good again.
