About my Boots of Speed. Are they supposed to be much faster than haste, also stacking with haste so the character using them becomes ridiculously fast?

I don't really like 'em, unless you have six pairs.

I have SoA/ToB, official ToB patch, and G3 Fix/Tweak patch installed (mostly convenience tweaks) and my boots stack with haste as well, and are MUCH faster without haste than haste alone (movement speed-wise). I guess the base movement speed is intended, not sure about the stacking though. Not that stacking is even necessary.

I think Boots of speed only speed your legs up, rather than your arms (that's why haste is better... to a certain point). Still haste and boots of speed are equally fast, if I am not wrong.

The precise workings of the Boots of Speed depends on what mods you have installed.
In vanilla BG2 Haste does not stack with the boots because the boots grant Haste (without extras such as additional APR). With the G3 Fixpack they double movement rate and stack with Haste for extra fast.

Cool thanks. I didn't like the modified boots so i renamed the file in the override map and i got the normal Boots of Speed back, much nicer (felt like i was cheating with the modified ones).

Just keep in mind that the character using the boots can no longer be hasted though, I presume anyway. Should be fine if you're using them on a class you wouldn't want the extra APR anyway. Useful as well if you wanted to buff summons with haste but not have to worry about yourself also getting hasted and getting the resulting fatigue.

So old style boots of speed would block improved haste too, or no?

I don't think so? Or better, I remember both the White foot Icon of the Boots on the character portrait as well as the double feet of Improved haste. Now if both boots' high speed and Improved's haste high attacks per round stacked, this I don't know (so much for checking :P )

Haste doesn't stack. The latter effect overrides the former. If you apply a spell and then equip the vanilla boots you would not benefit from the spell and if you applied the spell after equipping the boots you would not benefit from the boots. There may be other problems associated with using the vanilla boots, but it's probably nothing terribly serious.

That is the only Cheat I did. I gave all my characters Boots of speed.....mostly to speed the game up....
