Anything that strikes a blow to the elitist PC fanboy group I see just about everywhere on the internet, is enough to make me happy. I know it sucks for the few normal PC players, but my joy of seeing the rest writhe in agony simply cannot be described.

Mommy and Daddy won't buy you a new PC huh? When you grow up maybe you can afford one.

Wouldn't buy one if I was the richest person in the world, it's just not worth it.

Well I'm not buying DA2.
PC players made Bioware what it is today. Seems like they are forgetting that.

And most of those PC players have moved on to consoles by now i'd assume. I am one of them.

They have no obligation to you or anyone else.

You PC enthusiasts are one of the biggest whiners i've ever seen, seriously.

Coming in here and saying these things makes you better?

Bioware has the right to do what they want with their franchises. I'll just try to enjoy what they put out,

They do have the right but why do you have to buy it? Is not the burden on them to sell this game to the public? I wasn't aware of some global mandate that required me to purchase BioWare's games.

I'm sure they'll do just fine even without your money.

That's besides the point. Look, there is a subset of gamers, particularly those on PC, who aren't really being served as old-school style RPG's in the vein of Dragon Age simply aren't being produced any more. Developers and publishers want as many sales as possible, so they need to appeal to the most number of people. However, this alienates a particular subset of people who aren't interested in changes made to be more palatable to a huge market. This leaves room for smaller devs, like your CD Projekt's (still haven't played The Witcher) and indie devs place to move in.

So hey, while they don't need my money, or anybody's money in particular as long as they have enough sales elsewhere, they'll alienate some people looking for a proper RPG who will then look elsewhere.

Mod Edit: Inflammatory comment removed.

Once again, Bioware made the decision to concentrate on consoles long before they were bought by EA.

Anyone have a bet how many pages this thread gets to?

If it gets closed, probably due to the OP's pettition, then i'd bet 83.
If not, then I can see this hitting the hundreds.

Must be a misquote or something. They said the PC would retain it's tactical combat.

Some of us are hoping for an official response, and comments like this are only going to increase the likelihood of this thread being locked by the moderators.

As someone pointed out this is the weekend so they probably have the day off.

My view

1) I don't see how the toolset is a big deal since DA:O was released back in 2009. So you have a relatively fresh toolset there, since DA 2 seems to be running on the same engine it would almost seem redundant. However i can see how small mods and tweaks would be harder to implement without one.

2) I want full camera control, since I primarily play on 360 the fact that they are scaling down other versions is annoying.

3) In regards to 2, crappy new art style = new texture work?

Seriously, they went where the money is and you can't fault them for it because nearly everyone did.  IW, Epic, Bethesda, hell even Valve has started dipping their feet into console water.  The only one of the old PC companies who still refuses to move to consoles is Blizzard.

This news is disappointing, but not very surprising.

I for one will not be supporting BioWare by buying DA2. I'd rather buy a game from a company that still cares about their pc fans.

As slimgrim mentioned, no iso view is bad for everybody, not just PC gamers. It means that the game will most likely play out as a button-mashing game with less options and abilities for console players, not more. It would have been cool if you guys got iso view too, in fact I was sorta expecting it, instead there's less for everyone.

I've watched too many Downfall parodies... this line would fit right in.

Whoever is in charge of PR and marketing has to be expecting a pink slip; I've never seen such a hyped sequel lose all it's juice so quickly. In a matter of a month DA2 went from probably the most anticipated RPG sequel of 2011/12 to a very poorly presented game that has people scratching their heads asking themselves this is the sequel I have been looking forward to? I'm going to reserve my opinion on the the camera and toolset until a dev posts.

I don't see in what manner my petition could be offending. It's simply a request and trying to show that there are many people interested in having a toolset.
I'm more afraid of my thread being locked because of few trolls behaviour.
Or best option, a dev comes in, says" yes, the article is right/not right, thread closed. "  Till then...

iirc KOTOR did not have Isometric view, unless I missed it.  So that has nothing to do with whether or not the game will be a button masher.

Which it probably will.

Bethesda releases their toolset though.

And, saying Valve is moving onto consoles is a silly thing to say.

I wonder what´s going to happen to area spells. Moving the camera was often critical both to aim and avoid friendly fire.

Bethesda releases their toolset though.

.

Yes but Oblivion is way more different than Fallout 3. DA and DA 2 are in the same setting with just a different art style. If anything you guys should be arguing for cross game compatibility with the toolset. An update of sorts

Or you could just wait for The Witcher 2 and support someone who actually supports you.

OMG! Thank you for the link! While I'm excited just to know that TW2 release is nearing... did you read that message? Is that for real? Hidden in 1 frame of the trailer? I've watched it before but the player within the browser doesn't let me advance frame-by-frame.

"This message is for our biggest fans. Analyzing our stuff pixel by pixel. It's good to see you again! :-)
BTW: Simple minded people think that nobody is reading these days, dear reader of this, we think that we can agree that is bull****, huh?
Same as the fact that single player RPGs are dead, or PCs?
We sold 1.5 million units of the game from a dying genre on a dying platform - so we somehow cannot agree ;-)

Before we start talking about TW2 please let us thank you for your great support and appreciation.
It always motivates us and make us happy.

We started working on TW2 right after release of TW. Our goal was to create all the things which made TW so great even better in TW2.
We are very proud of TW but lets be honest, it was our debut. We never made any game before, and we practically learned as we worked.
So there were many things which could be done better, you know it as good as us :-)
But the vision, the main concept, remains the same: a game with a mature, captivating and non linear story, and full of spectacular combat.
A game created by a team of independant thinkers immune to corporate priorities, who don't care what's trendy at the given moment.

The core vision of the game hasn't changed. What has changed is the quality and the maturity we can deliver. That's largely because we're more experienced and also due to the fact that we've cerated our own technology. Do you remember how we made significant improvements with the Aurora Engine in the original game, but it still had its limitations?
Now we've created technology designed specifically to create non-linear games with extensive plotlines and a living word...
Well, there's no point in expanding on that too much - you have to check out our tech yourselves!

Nevertheless, we have many reasons to believe that you will like The Witcher 2!
See you soon and stay tuned!"

Fully supported this game up until now.
Without an aerial view, I just don't care about the combat system.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I just don't want to buy the game anymore.
Feels pretty bad, man.

Many people who had supported them and the game so far are wavering and feel bad now.. Many people, trust me..
