I may be wrong, but didn't someone say something about the console version being made differently than the PC version (i.e. PC doesn't get screwed over)? Whatever happened to that?
I just watched the Game Informer video interview again. Project Director Mark Darrah said:
"What we're really trying to make sure that happens between the PC and consoles in Dragon Age 2 is that where in Dragon Age Origins, we took a game that was designed for the PC and spent a lot of time bringing it over to the consoles... and I think we did a pretty good job. What we're doing with Dragon Age 2 is that we're really trying to make sure that each experience is truly a unique experience. So on the consoles the games is going to be extremely reactive, you keep that tactical choice but when you push a button something's going to happen, something really awesome. On the PC, a little bit more tactical, make sure that you can examine the battlefield and make your choices - keep that reactivity but again, focus around the controls that you have. You've got a keyboard and mouse, that lets you be a little more tactical with your choices."
I'm confused how they expect us to 'examine the battlefield' if the camera is fixed. Surely the preview is a mistake?
Couldn't a compromise be made - if they're adamant about not being able to zoom out fully, at the very least give us a mode where the camera isn't tethered to the selected character all the time.
