i did that too. my 18 year old bulldog mix died the day before i got dao. i got the game that day to cheer myself up a bit, and it did.

I like Barkspawn, but I'm a Penny Arcade fan. In my fic I named her dog Dane, though. It seems like that would be the Fido or Rover of Ferelden.

Charon (I did make up a ridiculous story for the name, but really it was because I missed my ghoul).
My Aeducan called hers Gorim and Ron Mahariel named his mabari Tamlen. Let's hope Dog Tamlen isn't quite as prone to horrific judgement as his namesake.

All my Mabari's were called Boo. until recently when I decided Dog would suffice.
