Miranda is the best squaddie out there, but thats redundant considering everyone else has said that. I always bring her on the suicide mission against the last boss because she and thane keep the collectors away from me very well while I deal with the boss myself.

Miranda might be intellient but I don't find her hot, although I can agree on that the ideal she's based on is most attractive.
Funny you would mention Lisbeth Salander. But yes, the similarities are enormous. Also one of the reasons I choose her before Miranda!

Anyway, I just wondered if Miranda would be short and snappy for the rest of the game. It doesn't have much impact on my gameplay. If I could choose I would do most of the missions alone, just like I did in Dragon Age but the game won't let me. I choose my squad members from my personal likings of them and Miranda is not a very fascinating person.

I don't have anything against Miranda but I always side with Jack if I dont have enough para/rene points, even though I don't like her too much, I guess its just the nature of the argument

High enough Paragon or Renegade can get her to come around again though I think it kills any chance of romance.

People are just responding to the fact that the OP is clearly playing on casual difficulty or something, as the statement that Miranda is useless in combat is, frankly, a retarded opinion. You can love Miranda or despise her, but the numbers don't lie - Miranda has both Warp and Overload, plus her passive powers give you both extra health and extra weapons damage. She's also the only squad-mate that enjoys both biotic and tech damage/cooldown upgrades, making her even more useful as the game progresses relative to the other squad mates (who either benefits from only tech upgrades or only biotic upgrades).

If anything, she's broken in terms of just how incredibly useful she is as a squadmate in combat. 

So you need to relax. As does everyone else in this thread.

True, I just started the game, made my character and played the game. I don't really care if my character + squad was the most optimized squad in the galaxy or not, I played because I enjoyed the story.

Miranda is hands down the best squadmate in the game in terms of battlefield effectiveness.

Yes, she's always a good option on any mission. And she has 31 skill points....

The renegade resolution of that conflict is better than telling any individual off, because you basically get to yell STFU at both of them without either of them getting angry at you afterwards.

yeah, play on hardcore/insanity. Overload + warp + squad health/damage bonuses are much more important than squad weaponry, considering i can do most of insanity on my vanguard with a phalanx pistol without issue.

Idk, I used everyone in diff cominations. They still drop like flies to me. I soloed alot of stuff. But Mirandas bonuses are useful.

I dont play below insanity fyi. And I could do without her 15% damage bonus considering my Widow is already beefed up to 5 times its base damage. You should try equipping your team with Mattocks, they are deadly. Power don't kill nearly as fast as guns do. Guns dont have cooldown times. Unlimited ammo in the hands of your squad mates. And Kasumi is superior in every possible way to Miranda.
