If you can sever the connection between Tali and what the internet has done to her, she's not so bad.  I rue the day I first laid eyes on this particular example of her fan art.  It almost ruined the character for me.

 Favorite would be Garrus and Grunt. Least, Jack by default. I don't hate her, but at the same time, she's the only squadmate I'm apathetic towards.

Ones hardly used just do a couple missions to get there skill up for the ending:

My favorite is probably Garrus, although that kind of goes without saying as he is something of the fan favorite. Same with Tali who I regard as something of a little sister.



Special notes go to Legion and Grunt however, they were my favourite 'new' teammates along with Jack of whom if it had not been for Ashley's email, would have been my new LI.



As for least favorite, that's easy. Jacob. I don't hate him, I just find him the least interesting in personal opinion.

Top favorites are Garrus, Mordin and Grunt, for their hilarious lines. Tali and Legion follow closely after, Tali for being a sweetheart and being there from ME1, and Legion for being rather interesting.



Least favorite would be Jacob, mainly because of his boring background.

I loved just about all ME2 characters... with the exception of-



1. Jacob. Don't hate the character per se', but he was just blah.

2. Jack. The whole "I am a crazy pyscho ****" persona got old really fast for me.

3. Grunt. I guess I got spoiled by Urdnot Wrex from ME1. After getting used to Wrex's awesome diologe from the last game, Grunt was a dissapointment.



Hopefully Bioware will bring back Wrex, or give us a fresh badass Krogan with an attitude.

This is my list. I'm only judging them on personality, history, etc. These are not the best and worse fighting companions.

From favourite to least favourite (with comment about why):

1. Tali (She is adorable, has a great story, a beautiful voice, and my favourite loyalty quest. Loved her since ME 1).

2. Garrus (Great character, with also great personality and sense of humour. Also, my favourite in ME 1).

3. Mordin (Funniest character in ME 2. Hillarious comments, almost as funny as joker. Very interesting history and loyalty quest.)

4. Legion (A big, unnexpected surprise. Never thought i'd be fighting with a geth by my side. Interesting history and comments.)

5. Thane (An uncommon assassin. Liked his phylosophy. Couldn't enjoy his loyalty mission though)

6. Zaeed (A really badass! Too bad you can't have a real conversaton with him. You never get to really know him.)

7. Miranda (The hot Cerberus agent is too arrogant for me, at least at the beggining of the game. Her personality improbes a little, specially after helping her sister.)

8. Kasumi (Same problem you have with Zaeed. She is interesting, but you never fully know her.)

9. Grunt (Couldn't like the young "perfect" krogan. Wrex was so much better.)

10. Samara (She does have a few interesting lines, but the whole package is not really good. Liara T'Soni was boring, but I liked her more.)

11. Jacob (Shallow character, no interesting background, boring comments...)

12. Jack (Her "Crazy ****" role gets old really soon. The only character I wanted to loose in the suicide mission.)

13. Morinth (Never used the "filthy creature" on my squad. Always killed her.)

2. Garrus (badass, his loyalty mission fits him perfectly, great personality, also good in combat)

3. Legion (its a geth, in your house, quite a curve ball since the geth were pretty much cannon fodder in the last game)

Tali and Garrus were by far my favorites from ME2. Tali and Garrus were always in my squad in both ME1 and 2.



Least favorite (and only character I truly dislike) is Jack. Everything about her, from her appearance to her lifestyle and personality I do not like.

Its uncanny valley level is off the charts.  Do you really want Tali to look just like a human girl only with three fingers on each hand and a super long neck?  Look at the picture again and tell me she doesn't have a loooooong neck.

The ME Tali was good, the ME2 Tali however was complete crap

I have seen plenty of pictures of what Tali "looks like", but I try not to let it ruin the character for me. Personally, I hope that they will never reveal her face. Its better that way, since her personality is built so much on the suit and her immune system and her situation that it is probably one of those mysteries that shouldn't be solved.

Indeed. From an artistic standpoint, it is shaded well, proportioned correctly, and uses an effective color scheme. And unlike most fanarts, it involves no oversexing of the character's image, a mechanism which more and more artists seem to resort to as of late. >_>

From a regular standpoint, it's just great fanart. I've seen some people complain that it looks too "human-like," but I see some well-placed differences, such as complexion and eye color. Have a look at the full-sized version.



I'm no artist so I don't have any personal basis here, but it's doubtful that the average person could create an image that good, let alone better.

Anyways, the general consensus from this thread seems to be that Legion, Garrus, Tali, and Mordin are the favorites (to varying degrees). Can't really argue with any one of those; they're all great characters.
