you can sever the connection between Tali and what the internet has
done to her, she's not so bad.  I rue the day I first laid eyes on this particular example of her fan art.  It almost ruined the character for me.

What's wrong with that fan art? I find it quite enjoyable.

Anyways, the general consensus from this thread seems to be that Legion, Garrus, Tali, and Mordin are the favorites (to varying degrees). Can't really argue with any one of those; they're all great characters.

Like how you did't mention Miri even tho she is mentioned alot in this thread as a fav., I call bias.

and so is Tali yet he mentiones Tali. It's the same bias BS everyday from a Tali fan, something I am getting tired of.

It does....make me wonder what does the OP mean by favourite? Some people judge by personality likes and dislikes, others by usefulness as a squadmate, and the rest by a combination of two.



For example, you honestly cannot believe that Miranda's overpowered abilities and Jack & Jacob's relative uselessness as squadmates have nothing to do with your perception of how much you like/hate 'em.

From a regular standpoint, it's just great fanart. I've seen some people complain that it looks too "human-like," but I see some well-placed differences, such as complexion and eye color.

Look at where her chin would be, and then look at where her shoulders are.  If she's going to be alien-looking and have a freakishly long neck, then the rest of her should be pretty alien too, to avoid the uncanny valley.

The "well-placed differences" that you describe make her look about as alien as a Hot Topic employee.  Skin and eye color alone can't make a believable alien.

And I agree that this image, in itself, is not over-sexed.  On the contrary, it makes her look extremely youthful and innocent.  These qualities, when examined under the context of her obsessive fanbase, disturb me more than seeing her in a bikini would.

Genral is BS. There is 12 characters, Miri is always around 5 or 6 place. So yes I would say genral consensus is Garrus, Tali, Legion, mordin and Miri.

Did not mean to insult. Just wanted to state fact that some people have her association with Cerberus ruin the character for them. Just perspective(why do I get the feeling that's gonna go somewhere horrible).

He's underrated.  The emotional distance he tries to maintain from Shepard sets him apart from the other squadmates.  He's a little cold, but I can respect that.


Meh:

I don't not like her.  Her introduction was over the top and cringe-worthy, but she got a bit more interesting when you realize that she's an addict.

As annoying as I expected, although I like her in combat

She was on my ship for seconds, then I loaded and took Samara back. Annoying face, annoying voice, annoying postures, so what I'm saying is....

I think I 'm more just dissapointed with Legion, rather than a strong dislike. think he kinda bores me..hm

Favorite Squaddies judged by Character
Mordin: he has the most interestings things to say, his truggling with the ethics of his deeds is very interesting and well done
Jack: she is really disturbed when she finds here memories and the hate she did built on them may not have been as accurate as she thought. I think her character is well built and believable. I liked her struggle she has with her past and with her perception of herself
Tali: I felt a lot of empathy for her and the Quarrians in general. She make's it easy for me to like her

Least favourite by Character
Zaeed: I liked the paragon falcon punch ^^, what more to say. Wouldn't want a person like him on my ship (and told him so)
Miranda: Came across very arrogant. Her first line that stuck in my memory is: "I never make mistakes", sorry gal, I don't like people with that attitude. I also don't like her oversexed features.
Jacob: as many others said, he just feels bland to me.

Favorite squadmate judged by usefulness (playing mainly Vanguard and Soldier):
Miranda: Squadbuff, Warp, Overload - she just has about everything I need. To bad I really don't like her personality.
Samara: Reave is godly
Zaeed (as Vanguard): like him for his disruptor ammo on Geth and Blue Suns missions

Least Favourite by usefulness
Thane: I just can't figure out how to let him shine
Grunt: not enough offensive power in my book, and I don't need a tank when playing VG and Soldier
Jack (as Vanguard): I don't need anything she has to offer as Vanguard. But I like her Shockwave as Soldier (I bring her for all Husk fights, yes on Insanity)

I agree with you entirely... what makes Tali an awsome character is that: the mystery. It's amazing that you don't have to see how she looks to love her. She's not a pretty face, a supermodel, a hotty...
That is why I like her so much... She is the first videogame character that attracts me only for who she is, and not for how she looks.

Revealing her would be a huge mistake. And if they do, I trully hope they don't ruin her!!!
