I've played the OC 3 times, I could never understand what the hell the lever in the graveyard crypt is for. You pull it, nothing happens, except for some visual effect that looks like the Bless effect. So I finally got curious and consulted the toolset. Turns out, the script rebukes the undead zombies (room in front of the lever room), but seems Obsidian was lazy, it's just a basic Turn Undead version, AC penalty is not applied, rebuked VFX on zombies is not applied. Besides, those damn zombies still attack you, so I could never understand what this lever does. But here's the actual problem -the Frightened and Rebuked effects simply don't work as they should. Enemies still attack you occasionally, esp. attacks of opportunity are common, totally unfair.
For modders: The problem lies with the state scripts defined in statescripts.2da, in particular, check NW_G0_REBUKED.nss for the Turned (rebuked) effect. It just clears the action queue of the rebuked enemy. Sadly, the intervals between heartbeats are too long (probably because computers were slow when NWN2 came out), so damn enemies always manage to squeeze attacks in between the "clear action queue" commands. I am currently modding the script a little, anyone's interested, check the effects EffectCutsceneImmobilize, EffectModifyAttacks, EffectSpellFailure, EffectMissChance, I recommend linking them all, setting the linked effect as extraordinary to prevent dispelling and applying the linked effect to the rebuked enemies for 1 round (as the heartbeat runs once per round). This should prevent rebuked enemies from attacking. Should work for frightened enemies as well, except they shouldn't be immobilized, cause they are supposed to run away.
Needs further testing, but the vanilla scripts are definitely in dire need of improvement, cause the enemy AI is driving me mad.

I wouldn't say nothing happens, the Zombies always stop dead in their tracks when I use that lever and won't attack unless attacked first. Or the effect wears off. I think if the effect was even more powerful it would be too much for that battle.
