I have the 1.04 patch... and... all the fixes it says it has are non-functional.
The patch is certainly there... but not the fixes.
-- Sigrun's quest: Broken
-- Velanna's quest: Broken
-- Law & Order quest: Broken
-- Silverite Mines bug... oh yeah.
Sooooo... what exactly *is* this patch?
Why are none of the fixes working? Is there going to be a re-release of 1.04?
Why does 1.04 fix nothing?

Also:
The Codex is still completely screwed up... really badly.
And the *massive* sound glitches that occurr in Vigil's Keep still occurr... after you have said that audio problems were corrected.
*sigh*
This really is an awfully faulty game.

I second everything that has been said by the OP. 1.04 didn't fix anything in Awakenings, it's hard to not get frustrated at this point.

Bioware stated that, at this time, they were unable to fix Sentinel Armor Set.
What pisses me off, in Origins anyway, is the bug that all of a sudden my epilogue auto-saves will not appear once I finish the post-coronation ceremony in the ending. THAT makes me mad, hopefully it will not affect the way I can import my Warden into Awakening.

I had no problem getting my auto saved rogue into Awakenings after the patch.

I am wondering if it has to do with all hte people who have digital copies of "Awakening"...
As far as I can tell, patch 1.04 is non-functional for alot of people - maybe it only works for disk version, and there is an incompatibility with euro/aus players?
Whatever it is... it sure sucks!

I have the disk version. Detect traps is now working and now we get the love letters. Velanna's quest is still broken. Audio problems and framerate slow downs are still there. You still need to do Sigrun's quest before you do Law and Order. Hopefully they'll come out with another patch soon, although they seem to be timed to be released when they come out with new dlc. It would also be nice if they got rid of the 10 character limit.

I am a United States player and am trying to finish off the epilogue of my good character prototype, but every time I end the epilogue, the credits skip and fail to auto-save the epilogue file.I know I am not alone in this either, for there are plenty of people I heard that once they loaded the latest patch at this same damned dilemma arose for them.
I really am starting to regret not purchasing the PC version of this game. I would have definitely if only my PC were working well enough to host the game in the first place anyway....

Answer: because 1.04 came out to add new DLC trophies, not to fix something you've already paid for.

Without the ability for companion quests to trigger, the entire game becomes locked into a certain ending...
Damn... this game is still unplayable.
How can you release a patch that literally *lies* about what is fixed?

Stoomkal, I don't own Awakening yet but I cannot possibly believe that they released a patch that doesn't patch...I don't want to offend you by not believe what you say but that doesn't make any sense...are you absolutely sure the patch is installed in your system?

Acturally the reason why the patch isnt working is that your playing a save what happend before adding the patch. I read in their announcement that it only effects new games. Sorry that you cant continue your save but we'll just have to start a new game to see its benefits.

apparently, the patch fixes many bugs, but only when you start a NEW game. Old games ar still bugged or so i hear.

I *have* started a new game... do not be silly.
Everyone who I have consulted about this has. We did it long before we began to complain in furious tones...
The companion quests are still bugged for the *vast* majority of people - do a thread search.
For those who have been able to trigger the missing quests and finally complete Awakenings after three months... I am limitlessly jealous.
There is nothing most of us can do - for some reason the patch is useless to many people.
Perhaps the EU/AU digital download is casuing issues. Bioware never released a disk here, so we are kinda left out.
*groan*

I didn't know there was a 1.04 patch for Awakening. Last time I checked DAO had 1.04 and Awakening has 1.03. If you are playing Awakening make sure you also update your Awakening game to patch 1.03 since that is the latest patch for Awakening on PS3.

It is a bug - both should be updated at the same time.

It is not a bug. Both were updated. Awakening was 1.02 prior to the latest patch.

I am still unable to leave the Orphanage instance quest due to my party being locked inside a double doored room.

Nice sarcasm! I was using the 1.03 patch, it's just referred to as the 1.04 patch on here, but thanks for the advice!

I can also confirm that silverite mines and companions approval bugs are still there (disc version).
