I'm running Windows XP and am having problems enabling the Developer Console in game.

I've right clicked on the game icon on my desktop and modified the properties in the following ways:

Target:
"C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\daoriginslauncher.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole
"C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\daoriginslauncher.exe" --enabledeveloperconsole
"C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole
"C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" --enabledeveloperconsole

Yes, I am putting a space between the closing quotation mark and the hyphen at the beginning of the enable tag. I have tried pressing Enter after the tilde key and not pressing Enter.  Game is fully patched to 1.04, and I have installed Awakening as well as Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar.  I do run a number of mods, but I had this problem before I started modding the game.  All drivers are up to date as is Windows.  All appropriate service packs are installed.  Game runs just fine, other than the usual bugs and glitches.

A search of the forums didn't turn up anything I haven't already tried.  Any further suggestions?  :?

System Specs, just in case:

Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU     E6550  @ 2.33GHz
2 Gigs RAM
NiVidia GeForce 7600 GS

You must also modify the KeyBindings.ini file located in My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings to be able to access the console

For complete steps to enable the console, please see here.

I had this problem when trying to use the additem script mod. It seems that the console, even when enabled is invisible. It still worked when I typed the relevant commands, I just couldn't see what I was typing. Could be that's your problem. There's a mod that makes it visible, try that.

DapperDan, I knew I wouldn't see what I was typing, but when the Character Profile window kept opening, I knew I wasn't in the console. :)

Thanks, Jack, for the link. I'll see if that doesn't solve the problem.

JackM, the link you gave me and the keybinding tip did the trick.  Thank you so much!

DapperDan, I did download and install the mod to make console typing visible, thanks.

After trying this out (I had completed most of the Golems expansion with a starting-at-level-23 character, then couldn't beat the boss) and going into the game using this shortcut, "Other Campaigns" is unavailable even though it authorized my DLC. When I try to load the save file, I get the error:

The module "campaign.cif" is missing

I guess you're not really supposed to play the DLC through daorigins.exe, but I haven't heard anyone else complaining about it. Anyone have a solution? ~~~~

Posted this into the Talk section of that wiki page. Anyone have any ideas?
