Mass Effect 1 spoilers only in this thread, please.

There are certain non-playable characters with armor which I can't seem to find in the game.  In particular, I'm thinking of the black armor that the asari commandos wear, the white armor that Captain Ventralis wears, and the metallic armor that you see on the krogan on Therum.  Can anyone identify these armors?  Or are they unique to these characters?

For Ventralis, I'd say it's probably Devlon Industries Explorer. For the Krogan probably Guardian or Warlord, by Elanus Risk Control. The asari command armor is unique and not available to players.

The metallic armour is called Warlord by Elanus risk control, i got one by a lucky drop but you can also use the console to give the armour to your inventary. The krogan leader of tuchanka can also be seen wearing the warlord armour in mass effect 2.

the warlord armor usually has a high success rate of being found at Morlan's shop in the wards markets
but I don't usually see it in his stock till after I've done a few of the main missions first
however, if you're using a N+ character, it can show up at his shop earlier in the game

If you have the PC version of ME1, it's also possible to use the console to give yourself various armours that aren't normally available through the game. For instance, you can give Garrus Nihlus' armour, which doesn't appear in any shops or as loot throughout the game.

Nihlus's armor is extremely rare in the game. But attainable. Buy the Serris Council/Serrice Council license and you may come across it on the Normandy. It is called Phantom.

no, the name of it is Light Phantom armor & it does look very similar to the Colossus one 
and even though it is a light  armor, it still offers great protection

here's a pic of the Phantom armor (it does have a helmet, it's just not shown in the pic)

also, keep in mind, some of the armor listed for ME1, is PC exclusive

Damn...I love the Warlord Armor I always have my Wrex wear it...well until I find a Rage or Battlemaster armor
