I'm not sure what Bioware was thinking when they changed Flemeth. Wanted a share of the GILF market, perhaps?

While it is quite obvious flemeth is fan service, she can choose to be whatever she wants, the old lady in the woods attracts far less attention than a dragon or cutey.mrcrusty wrote...

But out of all the things that Flemeth could have been, why the sunday morning cartoon baddie/MILF look?

Lol, I'm not questioning the possibility of it happening, she's a shapeshifter. You're right in saying she can choose to be whatever she wants. I'm questioning the logic and reasoning behind it.
She's a reclusive woman living in the middle of nowhere with a recognisable "old witch" motif for most Dragon Age fans.
I am confused as to why Bioware would want to take that established image and turn her into a cheap villain from a JRPG complete with antlers and implants.
I'm serious, I haven't played DA 2 outside of the demo, so maybe there's something in the full game that I'm missing, but it simply looks like changing it to be over the top... so that it can be over the top. No logical reasoning whatsoever.
If there is a reasonable explanation in the full game, I'll withdraw the criticism of course.

Reason for Flemeth being there:
To draw in DA:O fans to a game which has absolutely nothing to do with DA.
Reason for her changed look:
CoD target audience /konsole kiddies. You can't have unattractive woman who are important. Haven't saturday morning cartoons not taught you this?

the demo covers about 90% of all da2 flemeth content.
you'll get one tiny short scene with her in act 1 and that's it. And it has zero impact on the game.
Flemeth is completely irrelevant to DA2.

Makes sense though, considering that the first part of DA2 happens in the same time period as DA:O. And after that, she's supposedly dead. Depending on what Grey Warden story is canon.
