You don't have to ''study the scene closely'' to notice she has pointy ears, while Leliana is human. Durrrr. My Name is awesome wrote...
Ok what i want to know is why you guys are studying that scene so closely- Akward. I thought it was liliana too but I guess that since they said that there was no free love in dragon age in less you intend to sit in the shadows in someone elses tent and watch them like a perverted stalker then it must be a pc. But why did they make the pc look like leliana hhmmmmmmm.
Also, she doesn't really look like Leliana at all, she just happens to have red hair.

I can't recall a game where such a thing occurred. Not saying it hasn't happened before. Just can't recall.

Though for me it raises an interesting point. Will NPCs attempt to romance other NPCs and how would you get involved in on it, if at all?

Actually, and SPOILERS AHEAD, it could happen in "Baldurs Gate 2", the two companions Aerie and Haerdalis could begin a romance under certain circumstances, it was going even that far that your male PC had the option to fight with Haedalis for the love of Aerie... and your choices before or during the fight predicted the outcome of your romance with Aerie...

...and sadly as a female PC you coudn't romance Haer'Dalis. BadBlizzardBioware, bad (woops WOW habit)
Even as a heterosexual male I can clearly tell that Haer'Dalis would be more desirable than Anomen.

It also gets mentioned in *SPOILER* Mass effect between Kaidan and Ashley, although nothing seems to eventuate from it. I'm pretty sure it happened in Hugos House of Horrors with Penelope, although that may have been a plot twist. 3d Games have corrupted my memory.

*convinced that her female character is destined to horribly die of long celibate instead of being slain by Darkspawn*
