I hardly go to anything *except* character threads, but it sounds as though this would definitely help to organize the forums, especially with the large number of character threads there are now.

when I come to the strategy forum I come on it to talk about strategy, about builds, about the latest ideas on how to combine NPCs, Loadouts and abilities....about how to distribute points and how to complement builts with extra abilities not to talk about character support

Once you merged the different interest groups I couldnt find a damn thing. So I stopped coming to the forum. Lost interest in the game. Stopped playing the game. Went back to diablo 2 for the ladder reset and the vibrant online communities.

I thought character support threads should NOT have been moved from the storyline forum in the first place, so I guess I'm supporting this effort...

It would be great if the threads could just be moved back to their original forum. The storyline forum is not "better" or more interesting for lack of character support threads.

Personally support the addition of a new forum specifically for discussion of characters and fan works of those characters. I could be generalizing the character thread fanbase, but how often do they really skim the forums beyond the character threads? Anyone specifically looking for discussion beyond the characters is drowning in character threads, whether its the storyline forum or the strategy forum. Those who stick to the character threads wonder what's the big deal, those who don't think it is a big deal, so far as forum usability goes.

As someone who has been hanging out predominantly in character and storyline threads, I thought it strange they were ever moved.  Characters are clearly part of the storyline, not strategy, even if "character" is part of the forum title in reference to character builds.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie]

Anyway: I support moving the character threads someplace more appropriate.  I hope you get your forum back.

Exactly. This is why they were moved here in the first place, since they were burying all the new topics in order to stay on top.

I'll sign up, on the proviso that I actually go on record saying character support threads are downright pointless.

They only seem to exist because bioware panders to the fans. I mean do you ever see that crap in other games? "OOOH, Alexstrasza for squadmate and LI!"

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've seen people question why the hell I bother with strategy gameplay at all, to just appreciate the game on Normal and stop trying to create unnecessary challenges for myself. So you're on record as finding the character threads pointless, but I'm not looking for a war here, I'm looking to get two disparate topics of discussion separated.

Add me to the list, been a long time poster (since November 2009) for both Dragon Age and Mass Effect.



I really believe all character threads should have their own subforum, because it is hard sometimes to find tactical threads when wading through "Migrant Fleet" "Liara" "Garrus Calibrations" "Kaiden/Ashley" threads which seem to be updated and bumped every five seconds.



No hate against those threads, they just deserve their own forum because their popularity detracts from other threads.

That there is the difference between you and me.
You think people have opinions, and they matter.

I think most people are incompetent, and by being incompetent their opinion is worthless.
People presume to discuss everything from economics to politics to aircraft maintenance, while not having any real idea how those systems work.

That doesn't make them opinionated, that makes them ignorant.

now now....I believew Bioware needs to know that they have a numbe rof ensamble darkhorses as NPCs that are worthy of being put in more of a spotlight in ME3
