Oh nos! I am at the top of the page and my original post here consisted of nothing but my complaints. Now is not the time for my pessimism, we must continue to hope the moderators actually take stock in the concerns of the people who use their forums!

The worst part is that technically, splitting the forum up again is a monumentally harder task to achieve than merging it was. On most forum software I've seen merging forums is a two or three click affair. Click forum management, select forums, click merge. Everything is painless and automated. Breaking a forum up though? There's not really an automated way to go about that, someone would have to go through thread by thread to resort everything. So even if the mods wanted to do it, I highly doubt it's going to happen.

Signed.  I noticed this problem immediately when I came back to this forum after a break from ME2.  It's extremely obnoxious having to look through two dozen character love threads to find anything of actual value here.  We need a separate forum for ME character discussion/love.

I recall Gatsby came back for a little bit just after the character threads got moved here. the general mood I got was 'how disappointing' and I haven't seen him since really, which is a loss.

also, good work chimervera.

I also feel the issue is one of the type of posts the different threads generate. strategy needs a slower forum because posts come infrequently - theres not much point in replying without a valid point and those are fewer and further between than opinions, declarations of love, and generall 'hey yall's' of character threads.

hence how the strategy threads get buried even when they still have life in them. also, I get the impression that most of the people reading strategy threads are just reading, not posting like the character threads.

if I read a character thread, I can easily say 'no, I like xen better cause shes wicked.'

In a strategy thread, if someone tells me the mattock kicks arse, I've got to go load up a save, complete a couple of missions, and think a little bit. by the time I come back, I may not even be able to find the thread.

hell, I may not even come back or post even if I agree with the sentiment.



So thats why I want a switch up. slower talk doesn't mean dormant, Mr Priestley.

One shy of 100 signees. I wonder at what point I should try to directly get the attention of someone who maintains this forum. Haven't yet because I know they'll just shut the thread, and I want them to see just how many people really do support this change.

Realize the effort that must go into adding a new forum, but the mods manually moved the character threads last time. They can do something similar again.

well they shouldn't shut this down if it stays civil. as long as we hold back the raging we could be fine.

have you posted anything over in storylines and quests? they get way more traffic.

There should be an strategy forum dedicated for just that. Last time I tried to find an strategy for the Vanguard, I woke up 3 hours later naked, behind a dumpster 2 blocks from my house.

If you guys don't see me for awhile, it's because I managed to ****** off enough moderators to get myself banned. But I sent the following PM to the likes of Chris Priestly, Stanley Woo, and others. Someone out there must take pity on us.

Perhaps when the character support threads were moved from the ME2 Official Campaign Quests and Storyline forum, the moderators were content in the reduced amount of complaints people were sending in about the threads. Unfortunately, it simply moved the problem. Maybe those who posted to the ME2 Character, classes, and Builds forum were simply less persistent in displaying discontent. But strategy posters *need* their own place separate from the character support threads.

Please, we request the creation of another forum, either a new one specifically for strategy discussion or one that caters to discussion of the ME characters and fan works. I don't even know who to turn to in order to get our voices heard.

This isn't just those who post strategy who realize there needs to be change. Even those who post strictly in the character support threads realize there needs to be a separation. The two types of discussion are just to disparate to be merged together.

Please take this into consideration. Please find whoever might be able to address our concerns.
