No, YOU are the troll for keeping this up after we've tried steer the thread back on topic.  Get a life.

Yet you still have to post a rebuttal, you can't ignore and leave well enough alone.

Since when do I have to ignore a bunch of jerks who feel some strange need to dogpile on me?

Good riddance!

Just ignore the haters.

What about the Mauve mages you mentionned earlier?

Mauve Shirts?  It's from TV Tropes.  It's essentially one step above being a mere "Red Shirt."  A character seems like they are important at first, but they wind up not lasting long (kind of like Mhairi in Awakening).

Some of us are afraid Bethany's life expectancy in the game will prove to be short.

While I appreciate the fun of roleplaying a character who has just lost something dear to him, can't we move past the 'loses everything' origin fantasy leads keep having? How's about Hawke enjoys a long happy, completely functional relationship with his loving sister Bethany and gives her hand away at her wedding in place of her father?

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way--having your sibling die can be a compelling plot point, but it's sort of predictable at this point.  I also would prefer that Bethany not go through another version of the "Imoen plot" (ie. she is stolen away, perhaps by templars, and you have to rescue her).

Heck, let me just say I'd prefer that she not be a "damsel in distress" type of character.

I second that one! Please BW, no plot ala Imoen, pleaseee please. =]

Better would be if Bethany get's Butcherd and Hawke goes on a rampage! :o  :P

You know, Tirigon, I was completely indifferent towards you until out of the blue you declared me a troll, even though I had never even spoken to you. Whatever, that's your problem, but your statements here are hardly relevant or brainy.

If this is true you have a bad memory. I consider you a troll since YOU called me an idiot for disagreeing with your (wrong) statements in another thread.

Anyway, hoping to get this thread back on topic.

What kind of greeting will a mageHawke and Bethany receive? Since they're likely to be apostates they're going to have to go into some kind of hiding. Given that Templars at least have the ability to sense magic (Otto knew there was a demon about in the Alienage) they'd be spotted soon enough. Any thoughts on how that might be handled?

I don´t think it will happen, but if you allow me to dream.....

Hawke will simply kill every templar he comes across:devil::devil::devil::devil:

Well, tastes differ. Personally i hope she dies as quickly as possible. I want MY character to be the hero, not his sister.

Also it would silence  those guys who want to bang Bethany. So far noone has brought up Necrophilia yet.

You know the "Imoen" plot would work very well for a campaign to destroy the chantry, would become very political in nature and end up being a very very fine story I believe.

I am sure I would rather be surprised than play choose a well trodden path (as long as its not obnoxious).

why only burn down the chantry on the evil path??

^This... because I hate "the chantry" and their templars.....
In DA:O I took any opportunity that I can kill templars...
Just like "Ezio Auditore" :).....

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who dislikes Religions in real life and kinda wished for more Chantry destruction in the original Dragon Age, but I'd love it if it was possible on your DA2 Evil Path to slay chantrists and burn their chantries. It would add more epicness to the evil path of Hawke's storyline. Who agrees with me?

*blinks innocently*

P.S. I'm aware of the whole defiling of Andraste's Ashes in DAO, though I want more...

What's evil about freeing people from religious servitude, dogma and opression based on fairy tales?

A wild guess... killing them?

Killing mindless drones isn't wrong, as our Warden kills around a thousand of them in his/her quest to save Ferelden. They are called Darkspawn

The difference is that most people in the chantry aren't mindless drones as you will surely remember if you spoke to any in DA:O.

No, they're living breathing people, albeit living breathing people weirdly devoted to their particular philosophy to the point of fanaticism in some cases.  Which is why going up against them in the thousands, making their lives suck, and bringing the Chantry to its knees would be so much more interesting than killing a bunch of darkspawn

Well, at least we know how your particular Hawke started the civil war that will change Thedas forever, hm? Haha.

For me, I don't intend to play against the Chantry in my first run, since I'll only be feeling out the game. And even then, I have absolutely no animosity towards the Chantry whatsoever. Not all of the Chantry's followers are zombies for the Maker, just as not all Templars are only around to put a collar on the mages. Ser Otto, for example, is a great example of some of the people you could be ruining just because of a bias. I've never understood why the many should have to suffer for the few.

And do it with blood magic and you'll ruin their day beyond anything you could do to the darkspawn. Image IPB

Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved some of the templars.  Ser Otto and Ser Bryant certainly come to mind.  I actually ended up disliking the Chantry a lot less at the end of DA:O than I did at the beginning specifically because lots of the Chantry NPCs you bump across in the game are highly likeable and reasonable, despite my initial bad impression after my first Origin in the Circle of Magi.

But it doesn't spare them from my desire to play little miss evil Xanatos in DA2 :P  Sorry, decent folk of Thedas.  You get to be my buttmonkeys since I haven't played a downright bad PC since KOTOR 2--them's the breaks
