I think any kind of evil in the game will be of the siding with demons and ripping off peasants variety rather than infanticide and/or genocide.

Also, that's badass. You destroy the whole world and become the Demon King that is feared from everyone... Mwahahahaha.

I'd love to join an evil cult and destroy the oppressive chantry completely, using all the chanters, sisters, templars and anyone who is devout in a massive blood sacrifice. And i can assure you this has nothing to do with my grudge with the catholic church.

theres one flaw, with a destroyed world its unlikely to find someone to fear us. so i just suggest to leave those who are weak of heart or whatever alive and only destroy the major cities. that allows us to be feared by the humans before we sacrifice them to a demon god, a god well backstab later to get his post.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who dislikes Religions in real life and kinda wished for more Chantry destruction in the original Dragon Age, but I'd love it if it was possible on your DA2 Evil Path to slay chantrists and burn their chantries. It would add more epicness to the evil path of Hawke's storyline. Who agrees with me?

*blinks innocently*

P.S. I'm aware of the whole defiling of Andraste's Ashes in DAO, though I want more...

somehow this is sick

You mean in some sort of mass sacrifice were you gather millions of the slaves you have captured in your world destroying campaign.

Sure....... :P

That's exactly why I'd love to go that way.

(For the whole "detroying the world" it was an image lol. I'd love to make these NPCs fear your character. lol)

hmmm, better to hold huge proving style competitions in gladiator areas. That way you keep the semblance of laws and preserve future sacrifices. Wanton destruction is fun but you need your godhood first.

Yes! that sounds brilliant and you take the winners of these tournaments a make a personal guard out of them, except from the smart or strong willed ones, they get quietly deposed of.

baahhhh, not the cheap fable way. rather the "storming the orphanage, imprison orphants, burn down the orphanage, and last but not least order the orphants in some evil diabolic way, then burn the orphants while screaming 'this is for you, GarGathulothDevourOfMen, your loyal servant asks for demonic power' or something"

Only children? What about women?

They are reserved as concubine. At least the hot ones. Those freaky ET style ladies like the nurse at Ostagar won't even be fed to my blood god. A furnace will do nicely for them.

They live, if only for us to hear their lamentations.

Honestly, I don't see why a mage oriented player wouldn't try to destroy the chantry. And it certainly isn't an "evil" option to do so. Considering the chantry consistently antagonizes the mages, puts them in harms way via the Harrowing, and attacks an magic user outside of the circle, it would certainly be on the good path to attack the templars and the chantry. The chantry isn't "good" so anyone going against them certainly isn't evil for those actions alone.

I'm an atheist but my character didn't openly fight the chantry. When I played the human noble origin I played along with the "sister" and prayed with her. I felt kind of bad for the fools, but if it gives them consolation and they're not in the business of burning witches... oh well :)

Despoiling Andraste's ashes was not enough! I want to burn the chantries and have my wicked way with the sisters!

My Hawke will be a mage (Well, Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage to be precise, if AW isn't there, I want something similar :P), I think it was confirmed that there are a lot of Knights Templar in Kirkwall, and since you weren't conscripted into the Wardens, I assume you will be branded an apostate, so it's time for some Chantry clearing :P

Heh... I remember that woman at Ostagar.

Chantry Sister: "Would you like a blessing?"
Human Noble: "No thanks. I'm good."
Chantry Sister: "Then begone, heathen!"
Me: (O_O) "Overreaction, much?"

While I think just burning The Chantry to ashes will be fine enough for me... Wouldn't it be nice to be able to replace all revered mothers with desire demons and make them seduce everyone who comes into their chantry?

Politically speaking, I don't understand why more Arls, Banns and noblemen don't try to subvert the Chantry's control. It is a direct challenge to their authority in the region and the more morally questionable characters (Anora, Howe) don't make any kind of power plays against them. Loghain does in his attempt to poison Eamon but that was more or less just pardoning some peon captive because he wanted him for a suicide mission.

I would like to point out that either monarch will grant the boon that frees the Circle of Magi in Ferelden from the Chantry's influence.  Therefore, it is not entirely accurate to say that Anora doesn't make any power plays against them.  That being said, I do rather agree with you in principle.

I will gladly be "anti-Chantry" in DA2, but I don't intend to play as an evil person, and I would agree that characterizing such a viewpoint as "evil" sets up the Chantry as having the "good" viewpoint (which they don't deserve, IMO).
