I mean have you read the codex about her! I mean if they are real, it would be nigh impossible for an ordinary mage to do that! Seriously controlling the laws of nature and nearly beating the tevinter imperium with her powers. Seriously she did things that make your character look like nothing! and they are like god in awakening if played right.

I'd say it's a safe assumption those are largely exaggerations and embellishments. I'd say given what the spirits in Urn of Sacred Ashes temple tell you she was a very talented healer and primal mage but nothing to godlike. She did need an army after to actually win.

Or great I just got an idea..why not raid lyrium trading between dwarfs and the Chantry. The Templars would be CRIPPLED if that happened and we did enough damage.

The Lyrium Raid would actually a good start to weaken them enough. Then, if you are really "mad" or evil, you could attack the Chantries directly with your "so-called" army.

@jln: True but still she still had enough power to bring the Tevinter Imperium and Archons to their knees, probably could've if her husband didn't betray here.

@teddie: Well I'll attack the corrupt templars, the ones Cornell (before going insane) and Alistair I would try to help them get rid of their dependency. I hate corrupt parts of the chantry, not the whole thing. Andraste was great person but the people who followed her were...welll not so great.

Rather than physically destroy it, I'd like it if at some point we found proof that Andraste was just a very powerful mage, or that the Maker doesn't exist.

YES! rather than outright destroy the Chantry, destroy its spirit. point out its lies. show that the Maker is an Old God. Show that Andraste was a blood mage with world conquering ambitions. reveal the corruption to the world.

And then, when they are spiritually and emotionally crushed, when they have lost all hope and all will to live, THEN we shall sacrifice them to the Old Gods and usher in a new Age: The Dark Age!

Meh... I have no desire to go running around and burning down chantries and such. They'll end up burning themselves down on accident from keeping the Holy Braziers burning in large wooden chantry structures. Now... if we could get some Qunari gunpowder and go over to the Chantry cathedral thingy in Val Royeaux and make it explode like the London Parliament at the end of V for Vendetta movie, I might be game. Mostly because I like me some big dramatic over-the-top EXPLOSIONZ!

I was thinking the same thing. It's be interesting to navigate that kind of political landscape and you might instill some independant and critical thought into a world that desperately needs it.

Daveth: "She'll put us in a pot, she will!"
Me: "Dude, do you know anything about mages or magic? The reality is horrifying enough as it is. We really don't need bedtime stories Gram used to tell us when we were bad."

fair enough. we now have outlines for both a good and evil path for such a story.

Infidel! your hearsay will be punished by death! Image IPB

But in all seriousness, undermining the current Chantry would be pretty awesome.

Yes but every one of my Commandments would come with 500+ pages of material explaining exactly what I mean.  None of this "Magic is meant to serve man. Never to rule over him" nonsense.

I bet that's the line they also use to justifying keeping mages locked up in the Tower. <_<

It is.

and I agree. There will be no vagueness in my religion of evil. I will be very verbose with all my instructions and clearly explain why I do what I do. Even if that explanation is . . ."I was cold so I set an orphanage on fire. That really warmed me up."

Yeah I'm going to do one Perfect playthrough with a BM/AW that doesn't do chantry quest and helps that mage guild and does anything he can to undermine the Chantry and has morrigan as a LI. I'm not sure on Leliana because she seems the reformation type. To put it I'm going to be the Anti-Chantry type. I should do that in DA2 aswell. And a cult around me would be awesome maybe the Order of the Unorthadox.

I think we'd need a serious reformation for the Dwarves, Mages and other races' sake(s).

Yeah. The Chantry nearly destroyed an enitre culture, in on of the endings nearly screwed everybody over by nearly doing an exalted march of orzammar. No orzammar means darkspawn can attack us at they please which is bad!

My Hawkes Super-Chantry would be 100% more awesome and 100% less terrible than the current chantry.

"Magic is awesome, everyone should learn it even if they cannot practice it!" would be the first command. My chantry would teach children all kinds of practical things, such as how to swing a sword, make healing poultices and curative medicines, seduce qunari women, the basics underlying magic, etc.

The second command would be "The Followers of Andraste are no fun, and thus should be punished in the fashion of their false goddess." Burned alive with spells and then skewered by my Super-Templars, the militant arm of my Super-Chantry. Becoming a Super-Templar has very strict requirements.

The third command would be "Cookies are good. A baker who never bakes cookies should be stripped of his oven and sent to work in the salt mines."

That's all for now. Prophet Hawke will come up with more as he gets bored.
