Lore question: when Mazzy goes to speak with Samuel Thunderburp, the halfling proprietor of Five Flagons Inn, they mention "may the Black Hound watch over him" when speaking about the deceased Patrick.
Who or what is this hound? The FR version of Cerberus?
The Black Hound?

The Black Hound is one of several titles attributed to the Halfling god of the dead, Urogalan. There is no FR version of Cerberus. There is an FR version of Fenrir, however.

On another note, I just found out Mazzy is actually voiced by Jennifer Hale. I would never have imagined that.

You're welcome.
And... I missed your latter post. Yep, it's one of the reasons why Mazzy is an adored character of mine. I always felt partial to that particular voice in Hale's repertoire ever since Planescape: Torment. If only it could have saved Bastila for me.

If Bastila had more of Mazzy's character, her turning to the darkness would've been much more dramatic.
I doubt anyone found it surprising Bastila turned, considering how haughty & arrogant she was from the very first time one meets her.

Very true. In my case I predicted Bastila's turning the moment we were shown Malak torturing her. She was insufferably haughty. Mazzy was honestly noble. IMO the most noble character in Baldur's Gate 2. I thought she embodied a paladin better than Keldorn. Had Mazzy been given a fallen story arc it would have been heart wrenching and surprising. Not that I necessarily want one for her. She's one of the very few unabashedly good characters I like in a BioWare game.

Lol.
I thought this topic is about Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound (code named Jefferson).

The very first time I caught this topic I thought it was about J.E. Sawyer's now abandoned NWN2 module. It's a catchy title, The Black Hound.
