I'm not sure where else to put this, but I'm looking at getting some folks together to build a Persistent World on Oerth (Greyhawk) based in the bandit kingdoms (rookroost to be specific). We've got a lot of resources for cannon information, and have a clear idea of what we want the server's atmosphere to be, but need some extra help from builders, scripters, experienced dms, and people experienced with running a PW. I figure this is as good a place to start looking for that help as any, and I'd be happy to hear any pointers about how to recruit for such a project from the rest of you all here.

Recruiting has always been a huge challenge where ever I've been. Even when we had volunteers, getting committed people is hard, and sustaining contributions over time is even harder. The reasons are varied: interest wanes, real life intervenes, technical hurdles creep up, and so on. Furthermore, managing responsibilities and coordinating between members is itself a burden, which becomes increasingly frustrating and counter productive by frequent turn over.
My advice would be two fold:
1) If you don't have the skill or the time to do it all yourself, you probably shouldn't be starting your own project. This is because chances are, there will be times when the project rests entirely on your shoulders.
2) Before you start off on your own, look around and see if there's a team that's doing something similar, which you would be willing to contribute to instead.
If you have the heart and the passion and the skill to bring your vision to life, then you've got the basic ingredients to succeed.
Good luck.

cipher has some great insight in his post for you.
Beyond that, you mentioned Greyhawk, my 1st AD&D love. I'm interested in at least hearing more, although my time is somewhat limited. PM me if you want.
