I can't stand Liara, in ME she plays the innocent daughter role. She pretends to feel sick to get you in bed with her and I found her personality really bland. Especially in regards to archeology, I would have liked her personality more if she was grumpy like that archeoloist on the History Channel show "Chasing Mummies".

In ME2 she trys to act all tough and bad*** like Benezia, but it comes off as really annoying.

Liara coming over faint over and over again irritated the heck out of me, but I don't think it's fair to say she pretends to feel sick to get you into bed.

Someone explained to me that because the game has no idea when you are going to pick up Liara - after Feros, before Feros, after Noveria, before Noveria - she does the fainting thing after each one (like you're picking her up for the first time).

Huh. First time I've ever heard that. I just thought she was young an inexperienced. It certainly didn't feel like a come-on to me.

I wouldn't mind Shiala replacing Liara, that's for sure.



Then again, I fear that her experience with the Thorian and her evolving (?) unstable biotics might turn her into something akin to an Ardat-Yakshi, albeit with better intentions.

I doubt they'll replace Liara. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think Bioware will slowly mold Liara into the canon, or at least the most canon-friendly LI.

I actually think Shiala was suppose to be the original Liara. Like Ash and Garrus, I'm sure her role and character changed a lot overtime.

Liara is a lovable character. She grows on you. BioWare made the right decision.

It's got nothing to do with Liara herself, I am simply a freak. I am drawn to dark kickass characters who work for my sworn enemy and damn near kill me when I first meet them. Then they come out of a trance, explain they were being brainwashed to use their kickass commando powers for evil, mindmeld with me and sashay away. I go "ooh, interesting".

I'm also weak and swayable by beguiling storytelling - Shiala had a better and more interesting intro than Liara's.

None of this, however, means Liara is a lesser character. Her contributions to the story are vastly important.

Can't lie. I would be tempted to ditch Tali if Aria were a possibility.
