Hope you weren't expecting too much. It's interesting, don't get me wrong. There's just not a whole lot of it left:
The most interesting thing is that apparently this fight could occur without Grunt having Urdnot clan status, so it seems there was going to be a "failed but loyal" outcome like Tali being exiled.
Because I can take a hint: Unused Mordin vs. Grunt Audio

Really wish they would have left this one in. It would have rounded out the confrontations nicely.
Perhaps originally you HAD to kill the Thresher Maw to gain Urdnot clan status?

Yeah, I do wish this was in the game. I always felt very conflicted by the whole krogan genophage problem and nothing is wrong with Bioware going with that.

Aw, maaaaaan. They should have left it in, it sounds awesome.
I'm still angry though that they've got all of ManShep's LIs in fights, and here they had another prepared for two non-LIs, and I still haven't heard any info for arguments with ANY of FemShep's LIs. Where's our extra dialogue? I wanted Garrus to have a confrontation so I could take his side.

Obviously they had other confrontations planned for the game. In addition to Jack V Miranda and Legion V Tali they would have added Grunt V Mordin. You even see a bit of a planned Jacob V Thane confrontation when you first recruit the assassin. Kinda makes you wonder if they were thinking about a Garrus V Samara battle. After all one is clearly a vigilante who spent a great deal of time breaking all the rules to help people in need and the other is a by the book type, or code in her case, who would consider going against the rules as abhorrent behavior.
It makes sense for the Salarian who renegineered the genophage would be at odds with the Krogan made to ignore it. It would have been so much nicer to see them through this one in. But then anything that adds more inter crew dialog to the game would have been greatly welcomed so much of it was just horribly lacking in the game.

You people know why they cut this out, right?
It has no connection with love interests.

so this means there was originally a Mordin vs. Grunt confrontation like Tali and Legion/Miranda and Jack. I always thought that would be a good one.

I dismiss your claims that they did this because it didn't involve an LI.

@Kreidian: I did think Jacob and Thane were going to get into something. It's weird that they kept the set up but not the actual fight.

Although we all like to complain about having to get high enough paragon/renegade to resolve these arguments amicably, I really wish there were more of them, it really added character and tension.
All these different races and personalities aboard a small vessel, prepared to die for a mission, naturally they would probably get at each other's throats after a while.
It did strike me oddly though that all of them involve a male LI choice (Miranda, Jack, Tali). So it would have been really interesting if they did have Jacob vs Thane.... Garrus vs Samara...
And of course this discovered cut one: Grunt vs Mordin.

That was great! shame it got cut.
Kinda weird hearing Grunt calling Mordin by his name.

I wish they kept this. I always thought they would be in a fight because of the whole genophage thing. I’d hate to anger Mordin though. He’d probably glare at you and tell you to leave his lab.
And that would mean no more amusing conversations….

If that's true then why didn't they do a Jacob vs Thane?

I can see why they would have cut it out. Grunt really doesn't seem to care that much about the genophage and it would probably be pretty hard to have Grunt and Mordin have an argument without the squishy little salarian getting murdered.
