See, that's a really interest question. If one considers that Qunari have no *names* as we think of them (merely a job title and a set of genealogical information akin to a social security number), how would Tal'Vashoth actually choose their names? Would they take simply Qunari words that they felt described who they wanted to be? Or would they just invent names? Or possibly take them from other cultures? And what of chldren born to Vashoth parents (assuming they raise their own children), unlike the 'true' Qunari?

Dang, I'd really like to know what the Qunari called themselves before adopting/discovering the Qun, since using the term to refer to a racial/species group and a religio-cultural system is confusing. I think I will follow Zevran's lead and refer to them as 'very large dwarves with comical accents.'

'The Horny 24 hour Party People!'

EDIT: The Qun was to save them from a decadent downfall ala the Eldar from Warhammer 40k, possiblyImage IPB

I'd say they pick a name from the culture of the country they escaped to. Maybe modify it to their liking a bit. It would be a cool conversation with the potential companion where she tells you the story of how she picked a name for herself :)

I would really like to see them pick a name to something they aspire to, be it empathy, greed, equality, emancipation, domination, altruism, proletariat or M4J0R B3WB4G3!

Are there pictures somewhere of Qunari females?

I'm confused, aren't the Qunari a race of horned 8 ft. tall humanoids, for lack of a better description? And the Qun are a people governed by the Qun religion, whether they be human, elf, dwarf, or Qunari?

Is it physically impossible for Qunari to mate with other races, or just taboo?

Here ya go. This is concept art from back in the day.

Practitioners of the religion are Qunari.

Members of the giant race call themselves Kossith, when they remember.

Thank you so much for the pic and the quick reply. My last question wasn't answered though, is it possible for the "Kossith" to interbreed with other races? I understand that the Tamassrans are in control of the breeding program, but is it physically possible? I am writing my own story on just such a topic so I want to know whether or not to continue on with my present direction of an unorthodox mating between an elf and a Kossith.

It has never happened, but we have no idea of whether it can happen.

If you would, post a link to your fanfic on the community page when you've finished it? It sounds interesting!

Thank you, mousestalker I just joined fanfic today and I will certainly do that. I also just started your 10 day HTWFF eCourse. I'm new to fanfic and I think I will really enjoy it. Thanks for doing the course for us, I for one really appreciate the time and effort that you've gone to.

If its a Elf and a kossith, I belive the baby will be a Kossith.
As I understand, any mating with a Elf and a different species will result in the baby being the same species as the non-Elf parent.
If you mean is it possible a Kossith and a Elf can have sexual intercourse without someone getting hurt, I would say, yes as long as their careful.

Also given that Sten's comments in game about "Elf Magic" do the Qunari differentiate between Bas mages? Do they see the difference between a Tevinter Magister, a Dalish Keeper, and "regular" Circle Mages, do they know about the Rite of Tranquility? I ask because Sten seems to hate mages but then when you confront him about being a mage he simply says it's "different" because you kept your honor

PS: Sorry for being a bit rambly.

Sten views the Warden as if he or she were some sort of  mythical creature, possibly a unicorn. The Warden is a complete and utter fluke -- a competent, honorable person (when Qunari generally consider unenlightened foreigners as things), produced by one-in-a-million chance in a miserable, degenerate, corrupt, self-destructive, chaotic cesspool. Whatever the Warden happens to be --female, male, human, elf, dwarf, mage, etc. -- is sort of irrelevant because the Warden is already being considered by Sten as some sort of ambulatory pair of pants or talking horse.

Hahaha! I wonder how my Warden would have reacted had Sten compared her to a unicorn... or an ambulatory pair of pants. Most likely... she would be confused.
