So why isn't BioWare fixing this bug (and the others)? This blows away the idea that they had a crappy email idea for the Paragon choice for Conrad and they axed it. This goes right back to the NO RPG rule they had which left NO time to iron out the potential issues which I think they thought we'd not notice. Well this is notice that we DID notice and someone dug deep enough to find the truth. Now BioWare needs to sit down and acknowledge that they screwed up. Would be nice if they fixed the bug as well.

If you change the flags using the save editor before visiting that planet make any difference?

Not as far as I've been able to tell. Done that a couple of times but still get the exact same 'renegade' Conrad. Besides IF it were that easy we'd have vid of that option up already and indignation at BioWare for NOT fixing something so simple. Now we at least got more ammo to see about them fixing this.

Excellent find! I hope this gets fixed soon (although I kind of want an option to punch that asari...did she honestly believe what Conrad was saying?!).

No,  nothing changes.  When you change any flags in editor you have to wait and see changes on a game + import of that particular Shep.  Conrad, however stays the same.    It is not a bug or glitch, it was done deliberately.

Thing is, I'll probably never see it. Because of the bug, when I did my carry over, I ended up sticking a gun in Conrad's face so it would make sense.

To get the paragon result(if they ever patch it) I'd have to redo my carry over save all over again.

I actually did that with the save editor on one playthrough.  I wanted to see stuff like Wreav, etc., and figured I'd see what happened if I removed the paragon flag for Conrad while I was at it.  I thought they might have reversed the check, and the code just moved on once the first flag was found.

Anyway,  when I got to Ilium, he was nowhere to be found.  Haven't tried removing the renegade one.  I suspect you'll get the renegade dialogue, since the game seems to ignore the renegade flag and sticks you with the "never talked to him"/"got him killed" result.  Or, the code is even screwier than that, and actually requires both flags to make him appear.

It's too bad that the code is bugged, this would have been great to see!

I'm not familiar with all the tech involved but maybe a simple patch can't fix these bugs?  :?

Maybe that's hinting Conrad will be Shepard's XO in ME3:happy:

I really wish they would fix this, but given that the bug is in a save-flag in ME1, I doubt they ever will as they would first need to patch ME1, then ME2.

I wonder why until now no one has simply tried removing the "The Fan: Renegade" flag and ticked the paragon one, using Gibbed's save editor, and see how it works out.

Yet again, thanks for the video, er, audio! :D

1. Is it just me, or did the text size for everyone's names change?

2. The bug is in ME1, which screws up the transfer to ME2, which is why the save editing thing doesn't work.
