if he's bugged in ME2 he'll be bugged in ME3 wouldn't he? If ME2 has him flagged as ren then how the hell are you going to get a paragon conrad?

Presumably by being a Paragon to him in ME2... I hope.

I don't know why the bioware tester team haven't seen this huge and awesome bug.

Nah they probably did . But since it's was a ME1 Bug they did nothing about it.

I was so close to just punching Conrad because I paragoned him in ME1 and then he acts like I was a jerk.

Uhhhhh, what?! So these lines are there, just... sitting there, unused and uncared for! This is a high crime! Bring your pitchforks! Bring extra firewood!

But seriously, this and a few other oddities off carried over content just seem to kill small bits of the game. Doesn't break it, but surely doesn't help us feel like some of our ME 1 actions mattered. Meh..

I don't see any reason to think that the problem is within the ME1 save file. Because in ME1 your assigments log states the correct outcome of the mission afterwards. So your choice must have been stored correctly in the save file.

Hopefully this will get fixed in an upcoming patch. If not, then Bioware should atleast comment on the issue.

bioware will comment on it the same way they did on the text problem some people were having, 'it'll be to much recoding so were're not going to do anything about it'

Re: OP

I can't believe I just saw this today.

Wow. I mean really. Wow. There's no excuse for not fixing this. I'd play ME2 all the way through again just to get this right.

And it's Jacob's best line in the whole game: "I prefer to take s*** for things we've actually done. Let's check out this bar."

This is good stuff.  Conrad is one of my favorite NPCs even if he is rather naive & have delusions of grandeur.
I wish Bioware released a patch and fixed all those silly import bugs.  There is also another one about the Sirta foundation that needs to be fixed too.

Awww...man.....it would be cool if BW patched this....but then I'm gonna have to re-do all six of my playthroughs for a very minor (yet awesome) segment of the game? What if BioWare releases a patch that fixes this issue AND resets the mission so we can re-do it without having to start another playthrough?

Well, it was likely that something would go wrong in the transfer... But for this?!? Conrad? Why did it have to be Conrad??

I would love Bioware long time if they fixed this issue. It'd really show their appreciation for all the critics and fans that have been praising their games.

I'd hesitate calling it necro.  The product is broken.  Until BW goes out of business, it will be a valid complaint.

It doesn't bother me much in ME2 anymore, I just hope we can somehow get it fixed for ME3, so I can end my Verner Saga like we've always been friendly.

Nice find dude! I hope Bioware does something about the slave girl on the citadel dock from ME1 & the Baterian that almost destroyed a planet with a asteroid. He got away of course.

My theory is that they had to cut it because there was a problem with the import.... perhaps ME1 wasn't properly programmed to save the data entry the save game file makes when you talk to Conrad Verner...

So they did all the recording.. then during QA they tried a paragon import and noticed that it didn't properly import data on the player's interaction with conrad.... rather than go to the trouble of spending time and resources to patch ME1 so the import would work properly, they just cut the paragon version and use the renegade version regardless of how your ME1 Shepard treated him.

That's my theory anyway.
