Dang, I wish I had your funds!

Ditto.

Admittedly, if we made 45-50 thousand dollars a year we'd probably be able to afford a high end PC as well....But seeing as how some of us DONT........yea, you see where Im going with this.

My 360 I bought second hand, the PC was sold to me at cost by a friend mainly for college/work, and the PS3 was bought as a blu-ray player for the family, so it came out of the households' funds. So, truthfully, I don't have as much money in my pockets as it sounds.

I still prefer my loud, old-angry-man-with-a-cane 360 as opposed to the other gaming systems. Comfort zone, really. Besides, I like the way DAO plays on it.

Yeah, I was also talking about family funds, I'm still very much dependent on my parents. Collage is hard, much to learn, I don't wanna get a job!

College can be a little... four-legged dog, no doubt man. Don't worry stress the console/PC thing too much, though. PC players may get all the cool mods (which I sometimes wonder about, since most that I've seen are for hysterical sexual scenes and nudity) and graphics, and the consoles are beastly enough with 'em. (:

If we can still move the camera along the xyz axis rather than turning it around there is hope. Otherwise... how do console players manage with area spells? Casting them to avoid FF needed to move the camera a lot. Didn´t use them much until I realized of that.

Console players move where the spell hits with the analog stick. The hit-radius is displayed, so it was no biggie to avoid FF.

Yeah, I know, only recently have more tasteful romance mods surfaced, but indeed, while I can't be completely sure, if I were to sum up all those who download mods, the highest number would be held by nudity or sex mods. But that's really the same for pretty much any other moddable game, even ME2 which is not so moddable has some "sexy" oriented mods available here on the Social Network.

It's funny that Bioware never openly discussed the sales numbers aside from a press release. I think something was lost in translation. Who knows though, I'm not a stock holder.

well I bougth DAO for pc because all reviews said it was better for pc....even tho I often prefer to play on a console, in a comfortable sofa.

So personally I will wait for the reviews of the game to come out before making up my mind if im going to buy it for console or pc (or not at all if the reviews sucks thats it)....still I love the tactical overview camera and I heard it will still be there for pc so it will be hard to abandon Dragon age on pc for me

Does anyone know of the the pc sales from Digital Distribution through say Steam is tallied up (counted), eh, I mean included in the total pc sales for DA: Origins? I'm asking because I seem to remember that about ½ the pc sale today is from digital distribution...

It's obvious it sold better on consoles. If it sold better on PC, they wouldn't have made the decisions they have made, they're clearly tailoring it more towards consoles. Which I find odd - if anything, didn't DA's great console sales prove that there's a respectable audience for 'classic' RPGs on consoles? So why make it less classic and more streamlined action? Console owners have a huge amount of great alternatives if they're looking for fast action only...

my thoughts exactly . It's obvious from DAO on console that many console players bought it and loved it , i dont understand why bioware then assume it needs to be made more action based and less RPG. Surely the fact it sold millions on console and being a new franchise proves console gamers dont want the same old action games and enjoy something a bit more complex.

I don't care if it's get consolized or not. As long as the PC version is cool, I'll buy it on PC.

Seriously DA:O on XboX 360 was su*k hard. A little improvement won't hurt.

Its there to prove that DA2 is getting consolized, I would guess.

Almost every multiplatform game sells better on consoles, it's no surprise. Piracy is much more common on PC, computer illiterate people prefer consoles' plug-and-play system, they are less confusing, etc.

As a PC gamer who doesn't own either of PS3 or XBox 360, I really don't mind consoles' dominance in the game market, on the contrary I like it because more people can play games and the "haha look at this nerd he plays video games" mentality is no more, but what I do mind is getting crippled PC versions of games because of multiplatform game design, and very basic features of PC are either fully ignored or hastily implemented just before release.

e.g. almost every multiplatform shooter on the PC requires third party fixes or ini tweaks to fix the mouse behavior, makes you wonder if they even test it before release.

It sounds like your reasoning is insecurity than actually wanting to play proper pc games. In which case, you probably were never a pc gamer to begin with. If all games are the same across pc and console, whats the point?

They could reasonably believe that DAO sold on consoles despite having combat that sucked.

Everyone seems to be saying that the game sold better on consoles, though don't personally know, so I'm not sure how much I can contribute to that topic. I, personally, prefer consoles. My computer is a computer, not a game machine, I have consoles for that.

As for now though, don't worry about the screenshots.

Dragon Age 2 is still over half a year away, they have plenty of time to texture, shade, and smooth out any rough edges in the graphics until then.
