When your searching for the Urn od Sacred Ashes you pass through a wasteland of sorts while in the temple. you will see the gong. if you want to be able to get the Dragonbone Plate Armor, gloves, and boots. which is superior to the Blood Dragon Armor set. only this one doesnot come with a helmet. Well if you bang the gong you will then have to fight the High Dragon that stays in that area. This will be, most likely, your toughest fit to this point. i used my character, Morrigan, Shale, and Zevran. This fight does take a while win and the trick is to use the L1 and R1 buttons to rotate through the melee players(user character for me, Shale, and Zevran) and hitting the circle button to have them take potions for stay alive as long as posible. my fight ended with just Shale and Morrigan still alive. so it will be tough. well once you win search the corpse and you will find several items (i did) and a dragon scale. take this to wade in Denerium and he can make you this armor. hint-have him make a drake scale set first then the dragon armor and then the final set of drake scale because for me i didnt try the make the dragon scale first but when wade finished my second drake scale armor set the worker in the shop will no longer let me shop there.

Umm..No?..the blood dragon armor is better, the dragon stuff only gives fire resist..while useful isn't as good all around.

if you pay for both sets of drakescale armor, he will make you a set of dragon bone armor that is superior-- +10 fire resist, +.5 stamina regen, +50 fire resist, +1 stamina regen, +10 fire res, +.5 stamina regen, set bonus of -10% fatique and +5 def.
That is for the massive armor. Doesn't have a helmet so the cumulative would be: +70 fire resist, +2 stamina regenm +5 def, - 10% fatigue.
with a massive armor def of 29.25 + whatever helmet you want with a fatigue score of 35 -10% = 31.5.

From my math. I used a Corruption helm versus a Blood dragon helm.
Blood dragon armor gives :
+3Str, +3 Will, +50 Hp, + 1 Def and 10 % less fatigue.
Using the Dragonbone set you get :
10% less activation costs, 25 stamina, 2 stam regen in combat, 70% fire resist, .58 more armor, 5dex (corruption helm), 75% spirit resist (corruption helm).
To me, it is pretty clear using the dragonbone and a different helm is the far superior choice.

It all depends on what you want..The strength and HP bonuses would be better for some.

Eh, I've got Alistair waiting to use the dragonbone set since his strength isn't high enough. My main character with a 2 handed DPS warrior so the blood dragon works better on him but he's currently toting around the dragonbone stuff since someone has to wear it. Once his strength gets high enough they swap armors.
Leliana is wearing the fashionable superior drakescale armor as he medium armor, sadly it doesn't look as good on her as the midriff bearing dalish armor, but at least it does the same dex bonuses on top of everything else.

the first drakescale he isn't happy with. I paid him a premium of 10 gold. The second set you pay a premium of 20 gold.

Imo Dragonscale armor is better then the Blood Dragon Armor. However I also think that the Juggernaught armor set is better then both. It can be found while doing one of the Mage quests in the Forest.
4 Piece set, 3 pieces have +All resists, one piece has like + armor/physical resist. Bonus is +STR/CON I believe. Anyways Its made my Alistair near invincible on Nightmare, with +30 all resists +65 mental and physical resists at level 14.

I quite love my dragonskin armor. Anything that reduces the cost of my talents is good in my book, lol.
