So have they fixed the patch yet so when you download it you can still play the game?

You always could play the game after patching.
Q. The game was working fine, I've installed Patch 1.01 and now the game won't start.
A. Version 1.01 requires the latest version of the Visual C++ 2005 Runtime Library, July 2009. Normally Windows Update is supposed to install this for you so if you haven't updated in a while, do that first and your issue should be resolved. Another method is to get the latest version directly from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en
Download and install the vcredist_x86.exe package. This package applies to 32-bit & 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Same install package applies to all of them..

there's a simple resolution for the only issue directly attributable to the patch and it doesn't affect everyone who installs the patch... patch worked perfectly for me on multiple machines
