yes, i always have faith in bioware to make a creatively safe game where they take no risks and do nothing groundbreaking. it can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

ISTM that they're actually taking some risks with DA2, the flashback structure, the new art style....... Playing it safe would have involved doing it in exactly the same style as DAO.

da 2 is more mainstream than da origins. they're take less risks by making hawke kratos from god of war and making the game more actiony.

There's just no way to win with you people, is there? You are consciously focusing on one VERY tiny piece of non-news (they're making the game more actiony??) and basing everything on your reaction to that. You don't even know what the term "actiony" refers to. Not having to shuffle around awkwardly before beginning to attack? How is that bad? I'm not even going to bother responding to the Kratos thing...that's just asinine.

refer to my post bro. I never said the new direction they were taking was a bad thing you impulsive nerd.
actiony is pretty much self explanatory unless you're caught in the blinding fanboy rage you're experiencing

the worst the game seems.

since the game has been announced it has been kick in the teeth, after kick in the teeth. almost like bioware went through the forums and made a point of writing down the bits the community loved the most from DA:O and removing them.

i implore you bioware, give us ONE bit of good news. just one, about the new game.

There's been tons of good news already.

A story that isn't based on beating some big, bad, ancient evil.

Thats good!

Okay then, mission accomplished. He asked for "ONE bit of good news." There it is.

If the rest of that was meant to point out that tastes are subjective, and that not everyone will agree that all those points (and more) are good, then fine...that only counters the initial point as well, that everything has been bad. Therefore, it's not BioWare's responsibility to release information that pleases him personally.

Wow, I didn't realise the game had been released. Where can I get a copy?

it's so ****ing obvious that it should've slapped you across your greasy, cheeto covered face. in one of the early gameplay videos you can barely see a gametester off in the corner playing a devil may cry clone.

So, where did you get your copy? I mean, we all want to play.

Nope. I'm merely repeating what everyone else is saying in response to your blind rage at a video game. The fact is that it is not out. If you played it at SDCC, then you played two minutes of an alpha. Here, I'll let you in on a secret: I hated the SDCC demo. But I still have faith because I both played the console version and know that it was nowhere near the final product.

I'm not ignoring what you say, dude; I'm just reiterating the fact that you don't know what you are talking about.

Don't try to play the semantics card. Obviously the implication is that these two examples of "playing it safe" are bad.

And no, "actiony" isn't self-explanatory. It's not even a real word. Even if it were, it's so unbelievably vague that it could mean anything.

The game doesn't come out for six to eight more months. What reason could you possibly have for wanting to know seemingly everything this early?

How is this game a "marketing failure?" I bet BioWare is laughing their faces off reading some of this stuff. Singularity is a marketing failure. This game is, once again, six to eight months from release. The teaser hasn't even been released yet...

And SirOccam, I totally agree with you. I think the news we have heard has been mostly positive.

Continue...

bioware's marketing team is the best. "HOT ROD ART" and "FIGHT LIKE A SPARTAN" are the most retarded phrases a dev has used in the history of anything ever to describe their game.

I love what the EA Marketing Team comes up with when its obvious that the bosses want something NOAW.

"Something far-reaching is coming for Mass Effect"

^ I nearly choked on my Bagel revisiting this old joke.

Marketing for DA:O was way off base. Marilyn Manson...really? It's not surprising they aren't exactly acing it this time around either. By contrast, I thought they did do a good job with hyping ME2.
