Wondering if I should bother with it. Keep in mind I installed the mod which places a storage chest in your party's camp so the chest from WK wouldn't really be considered a benefit.

Thoughts?

I thought Warden's Keep was worth it. Good Story, fun times, and nice armor. IMO it was worth it.

Imo WK is quality content...however 7$ seems just too much a pricetag for what you get. You get ~1 hour of solid DA entertainment as you know it from the main-game, but once the quest is done there is no tangible reason to return to any of the DLCs content.

...so I don't know. Perhaps if $$$ aren't that big of a deal for you, you might get a good deal...otherwise I'd wait a bit. Perhaps there'll be some kind of special deal for WK in the future and you could get it cheaper.

I'm actually inclined to say no.

I bought it and played it through, and while the abilities are interesting and the new stuff is powerful, I'm not really sure if it was worth the money.

I personally enjoyed the story of Wardens Keep very much and say the 7$ are well invested.
Slight spoiler not story wise but benefits:

it was good, but not worth $7 USD especially when compared to the original game. It would be worth it at $5 USD in my opinion.

One hour? I probably spent 2-3 hours at Normal difficulty level. But I'm the kind of player who prefers to read and explore everything. I try to complete all the subplots, and I'd rather try to read all the journals, books, etc. than try to finish the game as soon as possible.

The Warden's Keep was well worth the money, I think. It's not only a matter of how long it takes to complete it, but I think the extra information it offers adds depth to the game and the story.

It was worth it, but only just. I was expecting more use from the location after completing the quest, but oh well. It was a fun and interesting little subplot with some really decent gear and new abilities to unlock(if you are so inclined).

Warden's Keep is only worth it if you get it for free Otherwise its garbage. Its just 1 hour of content, and even then there isnt much to do. Oh and its blatant false advertising. There is no base of operations, despite the in-game dialogue. The Doors are locked forever when you finish the quest and theres no more new quests despite the hints you get. Also if you didnt finish the sidequest, your shafted from doing so after you beat it.

It clearly says below on the addon page - http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/
"New features - a base of operations with party storage..." Apparently their Idea of a 'base of operations' is 2 merchants standing outside the keep with a Storage Chest.

Definatly not worth 7$, this is the Horse Armor of DA sadly.

LOL! Hilarious!

Thanks for the opinions. Since I now have a storage chest in my camp I think I'll hold off on it.

Two more Q's
1. Does the difficulty scale? Like, if I go in now at level 9 or so will it still be difficult?
2. How does the armor compare to the Blood Dragon Armor?

$7 + tax. I'd buy it today if the money wasn't going right to EA

Good for the story, but doesn't serve any useful purpose after that. It isn't really a "base of operations" by any means.

2-3 hours?  It's like 4 rooms, what is there to explore?  I'm a leisurly gamer, it took me 60 some hours to beat the game, WK took me 30 mins though.  I don't use the chest, and I never use the mage talents I got from it (maybe war and rog are better)  SO imo, no it isn't worth it.  DC needs to be like stone prisoner fully fleshed out new char that impact the rest of the game, I'm personaly not going to be buying anymore untill well after it's out, so I know just what I'm getting.

I actually really like the abilities, and even if the story is fairly short (albeit well acted and fleshed out), the abilities stay with you for the rest of the game.. The storage is nice, but a quick mod can get storage as well.  Overall I'd say it depends on how you view *worth*...  To me, I'd say it was worth $7, because I pay that much for similiar enjoyment at a movie or eating out..  It doesn't offer the same level value the primary game d oes, but I'm okay with that.

No, unless you want to pay to buff your character.

The problem Bio has is that the actual game offers so much for $50* that most DLC content will look understuffed. But put that aside: it's shorter than Bring Down the Sky *and* more expensive. Huh?

(*for this reason, I don't feel particularly ripped off for paying $7 here.  But nothing in the actual DLC justifies the expense.)

It's not my problem if people decide to waste their money. It is my problem if people encourage cheap, half-assed content instead of demanding quality content.

So no, it's not worth it.

I enjoyed it, but really for $7 there should be more content. Put it this way: If Bioware released an expansion for $29 and it only held 4 hours of gameplay there would be a gamer revolt. For this reason, on the next round of DLC to come out I'll wait to see how much "C" there actually is instead of just reflexively buying it.

And to Andrew Knight, I can pay $15 and get hundreds of hours of content from any number of online games. Let's keep the comparisons apples to apples, shall we?

So you're saying it was cheap and half assed?  I disagree.. Somewhat short perhaps, but well done nonetheless...

Try to look at it from their perspective.. I'm actually not sure about the resources involved in creating it but lets calculate some figures I'm pulling out of thin air... Between the voice acting, Modeling, Texturing, Writing, Scripting, and new mechanics involved with the abilities.. I'd say it's fair to say there were at least 10 people working on it for at least 4 weeks...

So to break that down 10 people * 40 hours per week * 4 weeks = 1600 man hours.  Let's say the average wage is 30 dollars an hour.  That comes to a grand total of $48,000 to produce... That's hardly cheap.  In truth I have no idea how much it cost, but I think that might be a decent ballpark.
