You have the Xbox 360 version? If so, the updated achievement list is not specifically a DA:O issue. This is actually the case with practically all xbox games. When dlc with achievements are released, your list is updated whether you like it or not. So if you're into achievements and MUST have 100% completion, then you will have to buy every dlc for every game you own. Advise: this game is too good to even start bothering with which achievements you must grab. Let it go and just play the game. If you don't want the dlc, don't buy it because of the achievements.LordNige wrote...
I'm tempted to buy it, but my only gripe is that the DLC is practically hard wired in to the game. My achievement list automatically includes it without me actually buying it. Also the dialogue with the dude that turns up at camp without having the DLC installed is a little lame, why even include him if you can't access the DLC? These are fairly dirty tactics IMHO, its not stopping me from buying the DLC but in future don't punish people for not having the money to buy further content releases Bioware!

I bought it and the cost is so small it is hardly an issue. It is an enjoyable 1hr-2hr of additional content that is as well made as the rest of the game. I do not regret the choice for one moment.

ROFLMAO. My sentiments exactly.
But... I cannot spill the DLC on my lap, burning my privates, and then turn around and sue BioWare for millions.

You can afford lattes cause we bought your overpriced DLC. As long time buyer of Bioware games you pulled a fast one on me with wardens keep. All future DLC is off my auto buy list.

It's not my problem if people decide to waste their money. It is my problem if people encourage cheap, half-assed content instead of demanding quality content.
So no, it's not worth it.
So you're saying it was cheap and half assed? I disagree.. Somewhat short perhaps, but well done nonetheless...
Try to look at it from their perspective.. I'm actually not sure about the resources involved in creating it but lets calculate some figures I'm pulling out of thin air... Between the voice acting, Modeling, Texturing, Writing, Scripting, and new mechanics involved with the abilities.. I'd say it's fair to say there were at least 10 people working on it for at least 4 weeks...
So to break that down 10 people * 40 hours per week * 4 weeks = 1600 man hours. Let's say the average wage is 30 dollars an hour. That comes to a grand total of $48,000 to produce... That's hardly cheap. In truth I have no idea how much it cost, but I think that might be a decent ballpark.
Let's think otherwise.
You are in desperate need of food, and there's a gas station right ahead of you. The months payment has finally arrived, exited and eager you venture forth with little care.
Assuming we all love hotdogs, the price is about 6 euro. "A couple of pounds couldn't hurt for a days lovely snack!" "Hah..." Your back starts itching terrible, awareness has awakened your common sense.
You realise in a split second, "Why waste money for just a moments satisfaction? I have food at home, pluss it's healthier"

So don't buy it. No one's twisting your arm to buy DLC. It's an add-on to the game, and not important to the overall storyline. It's a hotdog for people who have disposable income, if you will.

I liked it, but yeah - i must admit there was some disappointment when it turned out i couldn't enter the keep.Haexpane wrote...
If they patched WK to make it a TRUE CAMP w/ better items at the merchant... all would be forgiven.
Calling it a "base of operations" is flat out false advertising.
I blame it on renovations
I'm guessing mine was less than 7$ since i bought more bioware points than the game cost (package deals ftw!) >.>

But that implies that the DLC is in some way unhealthy for the game, which it isn't. It was a fun and enjoyable little extra, like dessert after a really good meal.

WK should be free for all.
Bring out QUALITY add-on/expansions.

I guess I was to deep then.
Let me put it this way.
Why waste so little time on a small hotdog, when I can have a nice enjoyable 30 minutes ride through wardens keep. Including good items

Full 60 hour game is 40 $ and 2 hours gameplay with a few items and story is worth 7$? I thought it would at least replace the camp and my NPCs would move there. At least! Like the house in Drakensang for example. Now it adds mostly hassel sicne i have to travel from Camp to castle and back if I want to move equipment around, craft etc.
But in its current form id say: Great Story and Background but no longevity and for that content to expensive.

It is quality content for the price. What did you expect? 12 hours of additional content for 7 bucks?
You get lore, quests, xp, a chest, new spells, armor, vendors.
Are we really arguing over 7 measly dollars nobody forced you to spend? Get over yourself. SEVEN tiny little dollars, I mean seriously, get a real job.

It was only $7. I'm far from being rich but $7 isn't exactly a strain on my wallet. If I weren't living in the US it might be a lot of money. But I am and it really isn't.

When comparing a game to BG2 as it's spiritual successor, it is expected that if you were to also offer a comparative feature of that game (i.e; Strongholds), that you would offer all the amenities it retained originally...
WK was sold as a "Grey Warden fortress," and so one expected it to be an interactive/customizable base of operations, which would perhaps have a more concrete and enjoyable "party camp" like feature (as that has been an integral part of party interaction, a major selling point of DA:O in general), or even the benefits of Strongholds in BG2 (quest completion eventually led to item manufacture or gold collecting, through in-game benefits involving the Stronghold).
If Bioware intends to integrate Warden's Keep into further DLC elements, or even give modders the ability to use this "base of operations" in their modules, then it is most definitley worth the seven spare American dollars I spent on it (at launch, mind you...)- however, if not, it is 200% horse armor.

I'm sorry, which part confused you and so many people?
Relive the darkest hour of the Grey Wardens with all-new content that
adds to the main Dragon Age: Origins campaign. This downloadable
adventure reveals secrets hidden for generations, and includes unique
achievements, unlockable character abilities, powerful items, and much
more!
Where does it say you get a fortress?
Clearly some of you can't read and then imply there was a dirty misleading marketing campaing when it is clearly outlined WHAT the 7$ grants you.
- New quests - discover what really happened to the Grey Wardens of old and what led to their expulsion from Ferelden
- New
features - a base of operations with party storage. Inventory full?
Stash new items as well as loot from the main Dragon Age: Origins
campaign- New items and abilities - talents and spells
from the Power of Blood school, unique achievements, and powerful items
including a set of Grey Warden Commander armor
