Grumpy Theron is a terrifying thing.  I sometimes wish I hadn't created him.  I still have little twinges of fear evey time I go into a grocery store thinking someone will seven degrees of LJ me again.

Wow, amazing pics. I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread, considering my Zevran obsession - then again I have been checking threads here FAR too much the past couple of days and I never looked at the forums at all before yesterday!



Zev has kindled a newfound interest in elves...



The gate kiss image is great, I agree. I should really take more screenprints in future but I didn't find them on my computer until halfway through my second play (could not figure out why the ones I took weren't on my profile the same as the ones the game took automatically_.



The first character I took all thorugh the game was a redhead too and Zev was her lover. Somehow he ended up involved with my male character after that as well, until my guy ditched him for Morrigan.

Taking snapshots is very addicting, Marie! I think I spend more time taking and working with shots than I do actually playing the game, these days. And I love redheads. Most of my characters have been redheads with the exception of one dark-haired elven mage and Deserae (in my profile pic) who is the first blond I've ever played in ANY game. LOL

I'm fairly new to the wonders of Zevran as a lover. He's been my Warden's best friend for ages, but being a long standing Alistair lover, rarely more than that. However, Ehrin (the Warden in my last pic) changed all of that, forever.

I don't have too many good screenies uploaded to the Internet, so I will pass on some humorous ones instead...

Synchronized Unconsciousness.  Lorelai got upset when she realized that the "silver ring" the Old Hermit took was the amythest Dusk Ring with its +3 Cunning bonus.  So she asked Zevran to check the old guy's stump for it.  Bad idea.

But even Wynne thought they looked kind of cute passed out next to each other.

"No, no, say it with me: Never again shall we submit. Not 'Please, I'll polish your armor.'"  Vashti Mahariel never did quite get the bad taste of this first meeting out of her mouth.  I had intended to have her romance Zevran, but instead, he left the party after Taliesen.  They never understood each other, which makes them fun to write.

I mainly have my girls romance Zev. lol once in while I'll play a cousland and she normally goes for Ali. I did make an elven mage specifically to do a run where she and Ali will run of to train the gray wardens together. I just can't play a female dalish or city elf that would be with a human..unless they are lesbians then it doesn't really matter. lol (I want to play a Leilana centered romance, but not until the IRS for her comes out. ) I *really* which the game had a elven woman as a li so my male elves could stay faithful to mate with elves, but alas the game didn't give us that option.

The pic I have on my profile now is the human female character I'm hoping to romance Alistair with but I suspect a night of passion with Zevran will feature in her future as well. Must finish Awakenings first thought...

Okay, I feel safe enough among friends now to make a confession. I killed Zevran on my first playthrough. But, to be fair... I also left Leiana in Lothering, Sten in his cage, and Shale I never even got to (figured I'd do the free DLC AFTER the main quest was done), so it wasn't like I was singling Zev out.

EDIT:  Marie - I'm trying out the Polygamy mod so I can romance both of them with Deserae Cousland.  She's going to marry Alistair and keep Zevran as her lover (to improve the chances of an heir, of course).  Yes, I'm evil.  I freely admit it.

Poor Zev! My first character was trying to be good so she spared him and I'm not sorry I made that decision. I can't see myself ever killing him. I did keep a save on my mage's game vbefore the ambush so I could try all the options but I never had any intention of killing him or letting him go thorugh the main game. I did, however, lose both Wynne and Alistair as the mage but at least Zev stuck around to the end.

TigressM, I thought I read somewhere that even without a mod you can potentially romance both Alistair and Zevran and if you are careful Zev becomes the Warden's paramour after she marries Alistair. Could be wrong though.



I've not tried any mods yet, but I may do.

You can get a glitch to romance both of them, or you can romance Zev and non-romance marry Alistair or Anora (political marriage) and keep Zev as your lover.

Second edit: @Mariefoxprice if you havent' used any mods, at bare minimum, seriously, use ZDF.  It's not a Zevran mod per se -- it's a dialog bugfix mod, and if you like Zevran WITH bugs, you'll like him much more without them.

Trust me.  There are other mods out that are excellent and can be used with ZDF as well.  But Zevran is incredibly bugged, and those bugs go beyond what any other one mod fixes.

Is Zevran always bugged on the PC? I've not noticed any problems in my 2 plays so far. I've not had problems with anyone else either. The only bugs I've had were iwith my second character n the companion dreams in the Fade - I had to click them twice to have the final conversation to get them out of the dream" and I may have had one with Levi - I 've a feeling he showed up at the camp twice and I had to redo the conversation about the Peak. Otherwise everything has been fine. I have thought at times that Awakenings is bugged but it's probably just me not being able to find specific items or locations!

Zevran is always bugged on the PC.  Here is a list:

You get the wrong dialog at the gates if he's in love (you get his friendly dialog if you take him with and you get an inappropriate dialog choice if you leave him behind)
The royal scandal talk has a severe glitch
The city elf Alienage reunion is bugged for all romance partners except Alstair, and actually, is bugged for Alistair if he's not in the party
7 Alistair/Zevran banters do not trigger and 1 Leliana/Zevran banter doesn't trigger (I restore 12 missing banters in all)

Copy and paste another list (since IRS-Z is built on another mod of mine, Zevran Kisses, it has these repairs as well, plus adds many romance scenes -- hilde and cmessaz did a wonderful job with this and I'm glad that they incorporated his bug fixes):
-Zevran now will not refer to a female warden as a man during his jealousy talk regarding Leliana. 
-All first time sexytime responses lead to a kiss as intended.
-When Zevran thanks the warden for freeing him from the crows, the line "I think of you as more than a friend." now only appears if the romance is not active and able to be started (this line starts the romance). If Zevran and the warden are in a romance, there now is a line, "I think of you as a friend, and more." that appears, and leads to his friendship declaration ("Then allow me to say this...") with the associated codex entry.
-At Arl Eamon's estate, if you're in a romance with Zevran, you now get his proper romance greetings.
-If Zevran offers the earring the second time, the warden now receives the earring and the conversation ends with the scripted kiss (non-ZevRing versions only as ZevRing not only fixes both of these issues, but gives an equippable earring instead of just a plot gift).
-After the Taliesen encounter, if the conversation leads to a public kiss and Zevran is not leaving, (the line is, "It would be hard to kiss you if you left,") the relationship now properly updates to love. (non-DT versions only -- Dialog Tweaks had already fixed this).

Keep in mind that ZDF repairs MUCH more than this.

*grin* Don't feel obligated (I didn't mean it that way at all). DAO is just so horribly bugged, and so I get preachy when I learn someone is on a PC and not using mods! It is a much better game (seriously) with fewer bugs!



I'm actually surprised that Leliana's writers didn't go all crazy on the coders when the game was released...
