Question: to make it an actual proposal do you have to refuse the earring the first time or does it count as a proposal if you accept it the first time? In the end, the Epilogue only said Zev stayed with Eleyna"for a time" after she said she was going to travel and asked him to go with her. I was hoping for something more definite so maybe I chose the wrong dialogue at some point?

I don't know the answer to that Foxy, some of the Zev experts will probably be on soon & can give you the correct answer.
I let the scene run for a bit, and got this:

the epilogue always states Zev says with the warden for a time unless she/he chose to train the wardens and he goes with her (but never joins)



but yes, to get the proposal you have to refuse the earing the first time. (tell him that you'll only accept it if it is a show of affection) he'll get a bit pissy with you about it and refuse to give it to you.



but after you try to invite him into your tent a couple times you can ask why things are different. that is what leads to the second offer of the earring (and is a proposal although in typical Zevran fashion he won't come right out and say so)

Cool. I had him refuse to bed her followed by a conversation about his feelings and the resumption of tent activity but that was it. Next Zevb lover will refuse it first time then - she'll be a Dalish elf.

@ Foxy - that's from the regular proposal. I just took them to the Dalish camp to do it because I thought the setting was so much nicer than camp. I just got lucky with their placement after the cut scene.

I beat Awakening for the first time! Skipped some of the side quests because I wanted to finish though and I missed a load of stuff on Origins with the same character so I figured I might as well be incomplete on both. I will go for the clean sweep on both with a future character.



The Epilogue was...interesting. Thought it was weird that it referenced most of my companions and myself moving on from the Grey Wardens in time - I thought it was a permanent thing even if the Warden got to travel?



Happily it did reference Eleyna's relationship wtih Zevran but it was ambiguous again- said she wnet to Antiva to track him down but was vague about what actually happened there with rumours of a showdown, them leading the Crows together or travelling together. Is that the only Zevran related Epilogue for Awakening or would it be more specific if I had got the proposal in Origins or the Epiilogue where the PC and Zev train Grey Wardens together?

@Cat - The hug in Eamon's estate?

@Marie - I think that's the only slide you get. Most of us pretty much ignore the Awakening slides as they don't make a lot of sense for any of the LI's or Wardens. Of course some of the Origins slides don't make sense either... like if you marry an unhardened King Alistair the ending slide will talk about the two of you spending time at the palace, much to Queen Anora's discomfort... ummm... she's not queen and why on earth would she care if he spends time with his wife? LOL

Maybe Anora is jealous because the Warden gets to be the most powerful woman in the realm?

I guess she is still called Queen because she's not married to anyone else and may get to keep the title by courtesy because it was hers when married to Cailan. That's how it works with British aristocracy and nobility anyway. The system is patriarchal so the wife of a king or nobleman takes her title from his rank and then if he predeceases her while they're married she gets to retain her title by courtesy unless she marries someone else. Had a child of Anora and Cailan taken the throne she might have been called the Queen Dowager or Queen Mother to distinguish her from the new queen.

So a completely random question for you guys...what kind of musical instrument could you see Zevran playing?

After seeing this I want to pair him with a cello! XD The idea of an instrument you practically have to straddle in order to play? And those guys in the clip make it look cool to pair leather with it.

the slide that mentions Queen Anora if you marry Alistair is a bug. ZDF fixes it and a LOT of other things. I highly recommend it if you are on the PC.

One of those guys in that video sort of looks like one of the brothers from Supernatural (the camera work is fast so you never see him long enough to really do a true comparison).

As to instruments for my Zevran - a recorder, but not played with any level of proficiency. I'm afraid I've already had him reject smaller stringed instruments so going bigger makes even less sense. Not that the image isn't a pleasant one to consider...

An instrument for Zev? I've always pictured him playing a sitar. IMO, it fits him spicy, sensual, and oh so secret at times.

If that's your only requirment, look up a double bassoon.

Note that I mention this ironically, its about the unsexiest instrument, ever.  But you do have to hold it between your legs....

First picture in my mind is that by Payroo where he is playing a lute. But honestly I would think someone like Zevran would prefer a small instrument which would be easily to stow. So I would see him with a piccolo flute (it's also a quite sexy imagination for me and I like the sound of it  ).

Cellos are one of 2 stringed instruments I actually like (the other is a well played 12 string). I've always found them incredibly sexy. The way those 2 played took them up into another realm of hotness! Great - another cold shower with breakfast!
edit: @ tigress - the very one! I'm guilty of playing it over and over because that back pat was just so sweet.
